Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I just beat lost odyssey. Here is my short impressions.

I'm not into JRPGS very much because all the nonsense that usually goes on and the bad taste that ff13 left me. However, Lost Odyssey was a game that I could actually enjoy because the story is tame. The graphics and settings remind me a lot of the old ff games which I also liked. I would rate this game an 8/10. I will give more details as time goes on. However, this was an experience that I don't regret. I'm making this thread because d21lewis wanted me to and I don't mind because it was a JRPG that I enjoyed. It's been a long time since I got to enjoy one.

Pros :

Great Graphics

Great Story/Ending

Great sound track

Fun battle system that actually takes strategy (take note square)

Lots of replay value

Jansen is a great character and someone I can relate to.

Cons :

The story can get a little out there, but not too bad.

Fusterating difficulty spike towards the end that came out of no where.

Solving dungeons can be fusterating because the machines/puzzles A button prompt doesn't show up right away and doesn't show up at all sometimes. This is my biggest con of the game.

You were right about Jansen. That is someone I can have a beer with.

By Jayden do you mean Jansen?

Oh and did you cry reading any of the 1000 years of dreams stories? I really can`t help but to cry at a few of them

I actually edit that before you post so at you.

Glad you enjoyed it. I experienced it back in 2008 or something for the first time. Loved it. Played it again a couple of months ago and I was surprised how well it held up.

Just because I love something doesn't mean it's perfect. The game does have flaws but I it's definitely worth while.

You can play New Game Plus with your current stats, too.... But wait a few years.

Yes, I will play it in a few years. If more JRPGS were like this game, I would be more into the genre.

Glad you enjoyed the game. Best traditional JRPG of the last generation hands down. I'm still butthurt that there never was a sequel to that game.

The gameplay is pretty for average, but as far as presentation and story telling goes its top notch.

MS should consider a mobile port given that's where much of the JRPG audience now is.

The real strength is in the 1000 years of dreams. I can't go through them because I usually end up in manly tears. Pretty crazy but just some words on a screen can move me to tears. It was incredibly powerful for me.

It really was the Final Fantasy we deserved and I hope that a miracle happens and they convince Mistwalker to do a second one.

You know despite 40 or so hours I never actually finished it?

I hit that insane difficulty spike in the middle of university exams and was like...fuck.
