Forums - General Discussion - 2016 celebrity deaths abnormally high, "expected only once every 200 years"

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-4094232/Last-year-really-terrible-year-celebrity-Number-famous-deaths-2016-expected-200-years.html

Now the dailymail isn't the most accurate source of media after all, which is why I put the last part in quotations. But I guess it doesshow that 2016 was a REALLY bad year for celebrity deaths. David Bowie, Prince, Gene Wilder (people sadly forget this one), Fidel Castro (not necessarly a celebrity, but definently a huge figure of the 20th century), George Michael, Muhammad Ali, Carrier Fisher, Alan Thicke, and many more (surprising Rob Ford is considered a celebrity). Take this as whatever you want, but it was a big year for deaths.

Top 25 Celebrity Deaths of the year:

Fidel Castro

Muhammad Ali

David Bowie

Prince

George Michael

Johan Cruyff

Bhumibol Adulyadej

Leonard Cohen

Antonin Scalia

Elie Wiesel

Nancy Reagan

John Glenn

Carrie Fisher

Chyna

Harper Lee

Kimbo Slice

Ernst Nolte

Rob Ford

Pierre Boulez

Alan Rickman

Shimon Peres

Christina Grimmie

Terry Wogan

Abbas Kiarostami

Merle Haggard

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I'm dude who believes in Conspiracy theories but DAMN this is messed up. Maybe this year will be worst? I don't know. Gene Wilder and Chyna are the celebrities that hit me hard last year. RIP!

It was a horrible year for iconic people, I have never seen anything like that before, so many of them, is crazy. Yet some here act like is nothing extraordinary, but it is.

With more and more entertainment there are more and more celebrities. More and more "famous" deaths will be the result. Think of when the youtube stars start aging out

I cannot bare to imagine. Pew die Pie will be a tremendous loss. Anyone remember who the last death was? Some MASH star.

isn't that Pew Die Pie a racist? I heard he's been throwing around the "N" word and tweeting it.

The threshold of becoming celebrity keeps getting lower year after year, more celebrities, more deaths.

What's weird is compiling a yearly celebrity death list and doing statistics out of it.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

the reactions from people are even more ridiculous than making a big article out of every death for everyone that's ever starred in anything slightly notable.  I mean a sitcom star from a show that was popular 20 years ago (hell make it a minor character cause you know people would react the same) dies and people can't go "I remember that one episode where bla bla happened.  He was funny in what I saw of him.  How sad" or something like that.  It's always gotta be "OOOOO NO SCREW YOU 20XX!  I AM SO DEVASTATED!" and say how iconic they were and what an all timer they were.  It may sound cruel but not everyone is...well me.

I don't understand why people make such a big deal out of it. Humans die. The list of people who no one knows is even bigger. With the amount of public known people being bigger and bigger, it will be more people dying soon.
