ALA was banned for that?

Warned.

Thanks for the clarification. Glossing over things as I did, it looked like a ban.

Hey guys I just noticed I received a ban. Can't believe you did that over christmas. You put Ebeneezer to shame.

My comment wasn't trolling Sony/MS. You know I don't mind admitting to trolling when I'm guilty but this was another occasion where I wasn't aiming at Sony/MS.

You guys can do whatever you want and I'll rarely complain but could you at least let me know where the line is?

I can troll 12 Switch and Labo all day without consequence but the second I proposition that certain games aren't worth their RRP, I get banned. I don't get it.

Is it possible you could set out the rules explicitly so I know where the boundary is?

P.S. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

PPS. Nintendo is on a course that will destroy MS/Sony so I'm not interested in trolling them like I was 2 generations ago. I'm happy to accept that both companies are making exclusive games that warrant their current place in the industry.

(TLDR: I keep getting banned for trolling when I'm not. I'm not the type of person who takes credit for something they didn't do. I've never denied that I troll and I'm honest. Just ask me and I'll admit to it.)

I dont want any bans repealed because they balance out the times I've got away with it. I just don't like being accused of things I didnt do.

I'll address this in a PM. Remember to use the email or Pm the mod in question before using this as your first source of discussion.

Oh, and Happy New Year to you too. :P

Question why hasnt the RDR2 thread been dealt with?

So, after much deliberation, and plenty of feedback from the community, we adjusted the rules to better work with the site and rapidly changing climate. Feel free to have a look!

We will treat them as general guidelines. It is not a Forum Bible. Of course, stuff like homophobia and racial insults will be treated with the harshest penalties, but we will try to do much more to work with you before enacting a moderation. It will be on a case-by-case basis, considering the infraction and history of the user.

Remember that if you do not like something a user said or did, you can report them anonymously. Do not hesitate to use that button, even on moderators, should the need arise. Be sure it is something that needs that kind of attention, however. Overuse (or abuse) of the function is highly discouraged.

Thanks everyone!

I'll have a thread outlining some of our changes, but in addition to staff, just everything we've rolled out over the last year. Site Admins/Mods, etc. Plus, all of the physical site changes, new consoles on the way, etc... Lots happening.

Forum Rules can be found here for interested parties: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8551507

Don't be afraid to tell us what works/doesn't work. (It is what this thread is for after-all!)
Interested to see how the forum reacts as we stand upon the precipice of next-gen to be honest.

Not sure what's actually changed with the rules, but it does look a bit neater and better organised so that's a good change.

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

One system I really like is the honor system. It gives credit to users who make an effort in being honorable and inclusive, and contributing positively to the community.

It could be something worth considering here until the ambassadors system is put back into the forefront.

Here is an example from league of legends. It doesn't apply perfectly to forums, but could be tweaked to fit, or new attributes could be brought to the table.

Helpful - There are those summoners who have the know-how to help you step up your game and are always willing to share. If one of your teammates makes you feel like you’re attending a master class on League of Legends, be sure to recognize him for being a helpful teammate.

Friendly - Ever meet one of those summoners who – win or lose – is just a pleasure to play with? This acknowledgement goes out to those unsung heroes of the Fields of Justice whose friendly demeanor keeps everyone having a good time even when the chips are down.

Teamwork - Some players really put the needs of the team over their personal interests. These players lead the way on the Fields of Justice, support struggling teammates, and are always the first to step up and select a role the team needs. This acknowledgement is for all those players who understand that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

Honorable Opponent - Sometimes you run into an opponent who is humble in victory and graceful in defeat. Be sure to acknowledge those adversaries who embody the spirit of sportsmanship as Honorable Opponents.
