it's almost over though, the holidays are here. all the arguments all the smack talking is coming down to the fourth quarter.

Is it too much to ask that we forego the "smack talking" and have a civil discussion instead?

well the smack talk was mostly towards me for what a few thought were crazy predictions.

I actually agree. Work with users rather than against. - It does mean that more time needs to be spent by each individual mod for a decent outcome though, but that's what we get paid for right?

With that said, moderation's are there as a tool so that users can take a "time out" and reflect upon their actions and thus hopefully learn from their mistakes and be more constructive individuals going forward.

I feel like the blame shifting that is going on... Like chalking Rols actions as Ricks fault isn't making things better, you are responsible for your own actions at the end of the day.

(reduced)

You are right, and it matches my point of view because I believe moderation helps but I wanted to stress where the solution truly lies in my personal opinion.

I'm beginning to see the effects of some of the coaching and I gotta say I really like it. Thanks mostly to this thread I'm reading posts differently now, as if like hoping that everything sorts itself out, that people elevate to greater consciousness through some social positive influence.

About blame, I believe that if community building is the key to this conundrum, then blame is definitely counter-productive. But somehow if we can help people realize on all sides where things can be improved, then I see that as a positive thing, so long as it isn't hateful, so long as it is injected with patience and hope.

Yesterday I had an argument with my parents, it is trotting my mind. At the root of the disagreement was difficulty seeing things from the other person's point of view, on both sides. It was difficult especially because I love them. And sometimes after an argument, I think of what was said and it's as if the ideas take a 3rd dimension, especially those of the other point of view. I guess in the end we would all benefit from being open to opposing ideas, but also it is kind of important to feel like others are making an effort to be objective.

Since moderators were hand-picked based on their wisdom, self-control and general positive effect on the community, I guess it is logical to count on you guys in a sense to influence the community in the best direction. But I still believe that it is too large a task for a small group and you may want to consider opening the circle to a second layer of folks who want to participate in a community-building effort.

Perhaps this thread is a platform for that, perhaps a more potent system and platform could be set up (a discord channel perhaps), and it could be a step towards finding a solution to this. Very specific objectives for that group would be on point to ensure that the spirit remains constructive, especially when dealing with certain behaviours can cause frustration.

Perhaps it would not require as much involvement but being open to a larger number of also hand-picked folks, it could end up having an effect on the community especially if these folks are active posters in the community. I believe there was an orange Ambassador tag for this before, perhaps the selection process was too strict? It could be good to reboot that in a more subtle way (no tag, and make it more community-driven and open to more people, with a solid manifesto) and involve some of the more active users that are having issue with what could be suspected as trolling behaviours. In this thread I can already see a few possible candidates.

I know there were but the only ones that bothers him  and he mentions are Sony fans . I'm sure other mods dealt with those just look look my bans almost all to be blunt are from Nintendo fans that are mods.

Yeah. Going to steer you away from that conspiracy theory.

The mod team works as a team. That is... Decisions on a ban isn't made by any singular individual, they are deliberated upon in a group.
The mod team also comprises many individuals with different platform preferences. I.E. Mine is PC... That removes any platform biases in regards to bans.

this is a sales website  negative predictions should be allowed , ever think why people are taking it so personal? Switch shipping 17 million is still great sales, in reality i just want my crazy prediction be right, just having fun, for me anyway. besides it's the holidays this is the time my thoughts to prove true or false.

I don't actually disagree with you there.

People should just stop making everything personal in general.

Since when are predictions made on a different site used as ammo against the users here?

Regarding your last reply, its not only about bad predictions. Not to name members but i kno a few who are always posting extremely pessimistic predictions for salesespeciallyy in my threads. Nobody calls them out like they do with Quick for a reason

Multiple people have gone over this with you already, it's not your predictions that have caused the animosity towards you, it's your bad attitude and disrespectful behavior, your constant lying and changing goalposts, your inability to take accountability for your actions or learn from your mistakes.

You go around acting like a victim when it's clearly YOU who are the cause of all your problems.

Can't say that I recall ever saying that, I'm afraid.

remember we made a bet, and you lost even with switch having  extra week in January, you were sure switch would outsell ps4 in the US eventually.

Do you not see this goalpost change? You went from easily outsell this year to outsell in the US eventually. Those are two completely different things yet you act like they are interchangeable statements.

That’s very different from what you said before. ^_*

Besides, the systems aren’t done selling yet.

It's ok to make mistake like I did here I dont see the problem as long as i admit or fix it, you are talking about a bet from a year ago, you assume I'm a liar because you have a agenda. There are many people that make stuff up I'm not one them, sometimes I post some wrong info that i assumed was correct then I admit it was wrong so please to stop with calling me a liar I don't appreciate it.
