We've been in the position of a single user causing a lot of trouble on the forums before.

Right now, that single user no longer causes many problems.

If that was true why is it that this thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=238460&page=1

has so many post in it?

Why is it that Rol finally went off in this same thread? Why is it that 30+ people hit the thumbs up on said post?

Why is it that the thread hasnt been on topic for the past few days?

I cant imagine how hard it is for you mods to actually get a satisfying answer to the community. I dont really like getting into this kind of topic but i dunno... Npd/similar threads will not stop with the same kind of comments (this includes myself) if nothing is resolved. :/

I think Carl was talking about Kerotan, who he banned because Kerotan gave a motivational speech about how "problem users" should be dealt with before they cause problems, which was so ironic that the mod team decided to test out this method.

Carl isn't even a mod anymore so I don't see why he would be defending the mods decision like you seem to believe, in fact he regularly does the opposite.

Abiding by the rules doesnt mean the problem isnt gone anymore though.

Then report the incidents. Have a chat with someone in the mod team.

tbone51 said:

Even though Rol went a bit far, he did say what was on everyone (most people) minds and like he said we arent going to openly say it out loud because no one wants to get in trouble/banned/etc.

We haven't polled everyone on this forum for their thoughts on the matter (Nor will we). - Thus asserting it is what everyone is thinking is a bit of a stretch until we have some empirical evidence to back that up. - It might be a popular perspective, sure.

This is deja vu all over again, i was basically victim to this back mostly in 2016/17 that i always got baited and banned from someone that most people wish they could of ignored (to that persons defense he is much more behaved now thank god).

It generally takes two to tango.
Just ignore the other trouble users. - Report them. - Have a chat with the mod team, we are here to work with you.

I have talked to one of the individuals in this instance to try and get them to ignore the other user and hopefully that will calm things down. - And I will have a chat to the other individual at some point to do the same, it's not always just ban and run and hope it sorts itself out.

tbone51 said:

Rol basically self sacrificed himself to prove a point, and though i dont agree i want someone permanbanned, the same thing os going to happen over and over again intill something changes.

Sacrificed? Not really.
This entire thing could have been avoided just by opening a line of communication.

Lastly its not only nintendo fans (this isnt directed at you) but alot of good posters are fed up with certain users obnoxious behavior on the site. But eh i dont want to get into it. Just throwing my 2 cents in (im not good at explaining this stuff lol)

That is life in general... You are always going to be surrounded by individuals you may dislike/not get along with.
The key is how you respond to those individuals, the proper way is to ignore them, then take the proper avenues to dealing with them appropriately. (I.E. Not take things into your own hands or respond with toxic rhetoric.)

In short, argue the arguments presented, not with the individual itself and things will be infinitely better.

Because people like it?

Rol is responsible for Rol's actions. - Why he went off is irrelevant, it wasn't acceptable.

Because we don't pay attention to every single thread/post on this forum? We rely on the community to give us a heads up, but now that you have made a mention of it... I will peruse the thread and issue a warning if need be. - Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

It's a two-way road. I don't really participate in NPD threads, usually stick to PC/Tech threads, so need reports to give me a heads up.
Many other mods will probably be the same.

The big probably is the 1 poster that targets the mob mentality in many threads and as a result ruins them.

FTFY

At least you acknowledge the mob mentality. The first step is acknowledging the problem exists.

Yeah that was the day I broke the camals back. They abandoned protocol and applied my method instead. It was a proud day.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I was gonna answer to this post on the NPD threat but it looks like I have to do it here:

I have to point out that it has also being very annoying to watch a bunch of people basically bullying him over the same thing every single week for over a year. Especially when he has admited that he was wrong (and apologized for it) MULTIPLE times.

Admitting you're wrong and apologizing doesn't mean much when you just turn around and continue to do the same thing.

Ok first, I don't even understand why he had to apologize.  He made a wrong prediction. And? We all have and we'll all keep doing it.  You know why? because we're humans.  And sure, his predictions can be a little bit more controversial than the average, but as long as he doesn't insult anyone then what's the harm?

And if you all don't like his predictions, why don't you just ignore him? I mean, time will pass and his predictions will be proven wrong (or right) eventually, don't you think?

As per Rol? well, a long time ago I decided not to engage in any kind of discussion with him because I have noticed that almost every argument with him ends the same way:  With him insinuating that the other has an anti-Nintendo bias and that his/her opinions should not be taken seriously because of it.

Joel Quenneville was fired as the Chicago Blackhawks head coach after winning them three Stanley Cups, Mike McCarthy was let go even though he has a Superbowl ring under his belt. At a certain point, the mods here are going to have to come to a head when dealing with Rol and his MULTIPLE bans. Just because others think he is a good poster and brings a lot to this forum doesn't mean he shouldn't face the ultimate punishment for his bans.

Pretty much. I mean the argument was  about believing  Nintendo pr numbers, he took it personal, and took to another level on how me and fatslob dont have enough intellect to use math, then went on how no one want me her.  like really? I effect people that much I only enter sales thread like once a month people are that upset about my predictions.

I'm not surprised though on resetera Nintendo fans hate patcher with a passion because of his predictions you would think that he was talking about there family or something
