Japan for me. I don't like that the major western titles all kind of feel the same. They'r either sports, online shooters or open world games. Japanese games offer much more variety to me. And I believe they have much more polish to them.

Deff Europe or US for me, used to be Japan but because I love the story experiences in western games more, its not even close.

US Has Naughty dog, which is a big plus and also bethesda and blizzard. They make Mass Effect !
EU has CD Project Red, Guerilla, Ubi Soft, Crytek also some great stuff They made The Witcher ! Detroid and Horizon coming this year

So it all comes down to who makes red dead and grand theft auto. And that seems to be mostly a team from the UK so I voted EU.

Europe because they made Grand Theft Auto V one of the best games ever.

Oh and they made Batman Arkham.

Pretty much all ubisoft games (farcry, assassin's creed, for honor and so on). CD projekt red (The witcher games,) guerrilla games, media molecule, Quantic dream, Rockstar north, ninja theory, rock steady studios, sumo digital, team17, remedy entertainment, rare, evolution studios. There is still a lot more. Europe has a huge role in the video game industry

Ubisoft may be French, but most of their games come from Ubisoft Montreal so aren`t made in Europe

Canada is so lame it can almost be considered part of france

I voted Europe but it's stupid to compare regions. In my mind Japan is the number 1 country but they can't really compete with the whole european continent (notably germany, uk, sweden, france and poland) or the us+canada.

1. Japan
2. Canada
3. USA
4. UK
5. Sweden
6. France
7. Germany
8. Poland
9. Korea
10. Australia/Netherlands/Spain

Quality is subjective of course, but they probably do compete with the whole of Europe on pure quantity.

And out of interest what games are coming out of Germany, France & Spain that get them in to your list? I can only think of Remember Me from France and nothing from the other too.

Germany has Crytek (Crysis, Farcry), BlueByte (Settlers, Anno), Piranha Bytes (Gothic, Risen), Daedalic (Deponia), Egosoft (X-games like X Rebirth), Deep Silver (more of a publisher, but some well known games like Saints Row IV).

France has Ubisoft. While Ubisoft today is an international company with for instance important dev-capacities in Montreal, they still do major development in their Montpellier studio. Ubisoft Montpellier does as far as I know everything Rayman and Rabbids. Also they made Beyond Good and Evil. Ubisoft Paris has Just Dance. Besides Ubisoft you have Quantic Dreams which is also a french company.

I would struggle to pick between US and Japan.

Europe doesn't seem to produce enough as it should given its size, unless I'm forgetting a lot of devs

Basically I agree, but I think Assassins Creed is the baby of Ubisoft Montreal, so that is Canada/North america.

What region makes the best AAA titles for consoles/gaming pc (not handhelds) this generation?  State your choice and why. My choice is North America. Halo, Gears, BF, Titan Fall, Madden, COD, OverWatch, Uncharted,ect...

Does BF mean Battlefield? Cause that's pretty much european. Actually swedish.

Some swedish devs are Mojang, Avalanche, DICE, Starbreeze.

Criterion, Codemasters, Playground Games, Slightly Mad Studios, Ninja Theory, Rare, all british.

Us Germans have a lack of good console making game devs and, except of Crytek, big studios. But some of the best traditional adventures in the last few years have been from german studios, there are some good Indie devs...

Poland has People can Fly, CD Project...

I think Europe has some great devs.

The site will definitely put Japan over anything else (probably till the end of time no matter what the country churns out). As for myself, I'd say a bit of US, EU and Japan. I think all 3 have delivered some good quality games over the past few decades.

I wouldn't say most. Montreal has Assassins Creed. Also I see after Ubisoft bought Farcry from Crytek who made the first entry was going to Ubi Montreal. Besides that: Rayman, Rabbids, Beyond Good and Evil (Montpellier, France), Just Dance (Paris, France), Anno (BlueByte, Germany), ZombiU (Bucharest, Rumania). And many, many of the other games come from different Ubisoft studios. Montreal can't do all, but two big series is something already. Everything Michel Ancel develops basically stays in France.
