Final Fantasy XV has better legs than I thought, it's doing very good imo! Should reach 1M+ retail soon!

Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto V legs are amazing!!!

PS Vita with a good last week in 2016 but PS4 ended 2016 with an amazing last week!

2017 is going to be a fantastic year for PS4!!!

The question arises, is it better to have legs like FFXV and Miitopia or better to start off super strong like FFXIII.

Well, FFXV will still only finish will less than 2/3s of FFXIII's lifetime sales in JP. Obviously more is better and something being frontloaded means it wasn't as heavily discounted, which equals more money for retailer/publisher.

I know Japan gets discounted faster, but is that true for cartiages (3DS/Vita) or just disc based software.

No differences for Square Enix as long as those copies are still selling at a high price. The few price cuts we've seen are coming from the retailers themselves and are mostly meant to compete with other retailers and not necessarily because they have too many copies. Square sold those copies to retailers at full price. As long as it's not overshipped, which could see retailers demanding a refund, it's fine.

Well if retailers have to discount, wouldn't they be less likely to order large amounts of the next title and onward. I don't know supply chain management in the Japan, I do know a bit in NA, and usually companies just don't order as much from the supplier, sometimes resulting in a shortage.

Japan actually doesn't usually see the level of sales that we see, but when things are bomba and hit clearance. It affects all platforms. The discounts for FFXV have been relativley minor (as Boutros has said), but more is better.
