Forums - Politics Discussion - Why Japan is on the decline

Before you blame teh mobiluzzz killing consulzz, there are other factors you need to consider because Japan as a country is in decline, failing economy, low birth rates, too many old people, decreasing population.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Decade_(Japan)

It is not hard to see why Japanese consume less and less dedicated media, the labor force is going down, not enough children, all these socio economic factors put a strain in the makeup of the Japanese family. Whatever time they've left is spend on a device everyone carries with them.

True, but thankfully I have it on good authority that the Switch can reverse this.

So is the west

Thankyou condoms!
Or 2D is the real deal now?

Is this just Japan or its happening everywhere too?

Pocky Lover Boy!

The Japanese economy isn't really failing, it's been hovering around the same level since the 90's, with a slight recovery in recent years (but Abe's government has made the economy more volatile in both directions).

Really, the Japanese government should drastically cut the workweek and curtail overwork more strictly. Many people in the business sector just don't have a lot of time and not a lot of vacation days which is detrimental to family time, contributing to very low birthrates.

All developping nations are seeing declining birthrates.

In many cases, Japan is the endpoint of classical (neoliberal) economics. An overcompetitive, stagnative, in many cases unimaginative (though there are luckily some examples to the contrary) economy where you can't drive your car from A to B without passing multiple tol booths since even the roads are privatised.

Even when they have vacation days, they don't use it. The Japanese government created quite a lot of national holidays to push people to stop working and spending more money.

And from what I've seen, condoms really are the last reason for the low birthrate...

Because in some businesses, it really is a faux pas to use up more then 8 vacation days. The government has been patching a broken system instead of tackling the system.

Fiat money has destroyed Japan. It's the frontrunner for the west at the moment.

In the end, when all is done and gone, Japan will still be Japan. The west on the other hand will be gone by then.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Please someone come in here and explain to OP how math works. I can't be bothered.
