Total software, digital and retail. Don't forget the install base is about 20M bigger than last year though.

They also didn't bother discounting the Pro during Black Friday or the holiday season. In fact, I think it was the only hardware SKU that didn't receive an official (as in announced by Sony) discount. |
It would be kinda weird to discount a new model immediately though. I'd be upset if I had bought a PS4 Pro at launch if they discounted them like 2 weeks later.

I know but Black Friday is probably the only time they could do it without anybody batting an eyelid.
this year we will have cod bundle star wars bf 2 bundle destiny 2 bundle and red dead 2 bundle and crash bandicoot ps4 bundle and 199 price cut
sells will be so crazy imo
Ps4 slim did sell very well. It didn't really need a 4k blu Ray to move units. Uncharted sold pretty well too though it is obvious the ps4 slim did most of the job.

Assuming 1.5mil PS4s on shelves/in warehouses we'd have 54.9million shipped as of January 1st. Sony would have to ship 5.1mil PS4s in Q1 2017 for them to reach their goal, which would be a 121.74% YoY increase. |
Last year they had 1.8 million on shelves in the same time period, and given sales are somewhat up and they recently launched the Pro, I think it's fair to say there's gonna be more on shelves this year than last. 2 million minimum. They still won't make it though.
I thought Uncharted 4 will cross 10 million this year. Still it's awesome news. Great numbers.
