from 2015 : 5.7m to 2016: 6.2m+

That means they did over 500k more this year than last in the holidays.

Yeah it's an OK uptick I would still expect a little more though.

The slim and ps4pro came late in the year, and they where abit greedy with the 299$ price point at launch of the PS4slim.

It wasnt really until the holidays they priced them as they should have done.

And thats where you see the uptick compaired to last year.

So Id say the Slim+pro did their job.

If sony keeps the slim at 249$, 2017 should be up YoY too.

Not surprised! It was bundled and toping amazon.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Sony will probably fall short of their estimated FY2016 shipment numbers (20million for the year, 60million lifetime). Assuming 1.5mil PS4s on shelves/in warehouses we'd have 54.9million shipped as of January 1st. Sony would have to ship 5.1mil PS4s in Q1 2017 for them to reach their goal, which would be a 121.74% YoY increase.

amazing numbers

They also didn't bother discounting the Pro during Black Friday or the holiday season. In fact, I think it was the only hardware SKU that didn't receive an official (as in announced by Sony) discount.

next year will be even better imo

Console sells close to 20million this year and people is still twisting it as not good.

what's wrong with you people

20 million is an amazing year. If we have 5 years of these, it is already over 100million sold. Even though it looks like 2016 is the peak year of ps4 with new hardware around the corner; if let's say they sell 17million in 2017. PS4 lifetime is already at 70million lifetime in just 4 years.

In perspective, ps3, a pretty successful console reached 80million lifetime in 7 years....

And this is supposed to be uh oh, not good coming from some of you here... that's just rofl.

I didnt think PS4 would be up YOY for the holiday overall but its nice to see that it is. Congrats to Sony and Naughty Dog.

By a good margin. Probably due to Pro.

Hardware up 8.77% YoY, software up 44% YoY

The software part is the most surprising part to me. Is it all PS4 games or only Sonys first party?
