Ford Motor said on Tuesday that it was canceling plans to build a $1.6 billion plant in Mexico and would instead invest $700 million to increase production in Michigan.

Ford had come under heavy criticism from Donald J. Trump during the election campaign for plans to expand production in Mexico. But at a news conference on Tuesday, Ford’s chief executive, Mark Fields, said the company was optimistic that Mr. Trump and the new Republican-controlled Congress would pursue growth policies that will strengthen American competitiveness in manufacturing....

Trump bless.

Bow to the only holy prophet of god, the one and only Don of Muricana.

Good to see more money being invested in American workers.

No way to spin this negatively. It's a great move, but Trump isn't a prophet of God, wtaf?

Yet people will still bat an eye at the end cause they were wrong ...

Sure there is, Ford is now investing just $700,000,000 instead of spending $1,600,000,000 on construction and job creation in Mexico, sure it's a bigger investment for the US but a smaller spend from Ford in total for a negative of almost 1 billion dollars of spending on job creation in the world as a whole not just US.

The above isn't my actual feelings on this matter, I have little vested interest in the matter to be honest, just wanted to show that if there is numbers there can be spinning.

That's reasonable enough view if you are a globalist but I and most are not and globalism is a word akin to holocaust for me. It's what all establishment entities are working towards and when it is achieved it will be the end for any semblance of democracy.

In terms of the investment being lower it's like comparing apples and oranges. Infrastructure already at Michigan etc. The point is American jobs for American manufacturing and good jobs.

Not that I don't support fewer regulations for our businesses, but Fields clearly states that they would have invested whether or not Trump won.

I would say it's a very good news for american workers
