I think his point is that the PS3 made 10m, and the PS4 is currently tracking ahead of it in a declining market. Personally I think 4m in any country is worth celebrating, besides maybe the US.

Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Persona, Tales of, Dragon Quest Heroes/Builders, Street Fighter, Yakuza, Star Ocean, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, The Evil Within, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Earth Defense Force, Idolmaster, Sword Art Online, One Piece, Naruto Shippuden, Attack on Titan, Gundam Breaker, Pro Evo Soccer, Jikkyou Pro Baseball, Fate/Extella, God Eater, Super Robot Wars, Toukiden, Dead or Alive, Senran Kagura, Odin Sphere, Disgaea, Dynasty/Samurai Warriors, Kamen Rider, etc.

Alot of those are also on PS3 or Vita but that doesnt really change anything.

FFXV release of course was the huge tipping point much like FFXIII.

I wouldn't bet on that.  Thats beyond a dream scenario.  The 3ds barely passed the 22 mark and the handheld market is on the decline in favor of mobile, which wasn't always a factor for the 3DS.  Add to that the possible 3 hour battery life, the fact the games will probably have a console price and not a handheld price and the tablet like size of the NX......... Why buy a dedicated platform that is huge, and not very portable (can't fit in pockets) with games that are 8000+ yen when you could pay 15 bucks for a jrpg on your phone.  The NX negates the pros of the 3Ds.  Just keep you expectations in check. Lol

The ps4 did very very great this year in Japan with big titles next year i am 100% sure that 2017 will be even better!! On the other hand congrats for vita!!! It finally had million saler game the3ds saw better years but still it's a good year for it too

It's a custom,any milestone are celebrated.

 



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

GTA & TLOU are not Japanese games and there is currently nothing that suggests Monster Hunter is coming to PS4.

GTA & TLOU are not Japanese games and there is currently nothing that suggests Monster Hunter is coming to PS4.

I wasnt just talking about him, i have seen quite a few people talk about PS4 lacking Japanese games.

He said Japanese Styled games which means I took the liberty of just picking popular ish franchises in Japan. No indication of GTA6 for PS4 tbh, at the rate they are going. But I still like to make assumptions for fun.

And it was lacking before FFXV, it would be like  NA recieving CoD after almost 3 years.
