Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo Switch ads already in stores

My expectations are low for this console and that reveal date. I do want this since I skipped out on the wii u which was like a whole generation of games I missed.

Edit: wrong thread

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

This needs to sell for $199. Its the magic number that will make people jump. If they are pushing for $299 when Xbox One is selling for $229 and PS4 is selling for $249 then it will be ignored by the populace at large.

Those prices were temporary holiday deals, the official MSRP of XBO & PS4 is $299.

They could still easily do this. I think a launch of $299 will be a fiasco for Nintendo. Even if consumers know what it is.

$249 for basic sku & $299 for premium sku like the rumors suggest i think will be fine, although i believe dumping the basic sku and having the premium sku as the only option at $249 would be ideal.

It's kinda pointless to compare to a PS4/XB1, those are different types of products, Switch is for the person who plays a lot on the go/portably, as such its main audience appeal will be to 3DS owners.

The trick is going to be whether or not that crowd is willing to pay $250-$300 for a more premium type of portable that can also be played on the TV.

PS4/XB1 will drop to $249.99 full time next year, that's just inevitable.

Ya asking why somebody would choose the $250-300 Switch over a similar priced PS4/XBO is like asking why would someone buy a $1000 iPad Pro when you can get an iMac for a similar price.

Different products for different people.

Doing what he does still just means you're doing what he does, regardless of claimed intent. Better to counter with reason and explanation than simply doing the same thing as him if you're really trying to make a point.

If you have to explain a joke, then it stops being funny. If you have to explain such a simple point, it just becomes redundant. Not everything needs a detailed, in-depth response, especially in a thread filled with them.

Explaining a simple point isn't redundant at all. I see no logic in your reasoning there, just an excuse. Explaining a point is to teach and make said point to begin with, otherwise you're doing exactly the same error as the one you're making the point to, and if anything, you're encouraging them to keep doing that, which contradicts your 'point'

and if it's a joke? Then there's no point at all. And it wasn't very funny anyway.

Since Nintendo has the bad habit of not meeting demand, I'm pre ordering the minute they're available.
