TLDR:

The FBI and the Department Of Homeland Security have released a joint analysis report detailing (somewhat vague) the hacking done by Russian agents. These cyber operations have included spearphishing campaigns targeting government organizations, critical infrastructure entities, think tanks, universities, political organizations, and corporations leading to the theft of information. In foreign countries, RIS actors conducted damaging and/or disruptive cyber-attacks, including attacks on critical infrastructure networks.  

35 Russian diplomats have been expelled from the US, according to a statement from State Department over their involvement in hacking U.S. political groups in the 2016 presidential election. Also announcing the closing of two Russian compounds, in New York and Maryland.

It is the cold war all over again? or is things going to get heated up?

It's still too vague to be considered proof to me. Also, Wikileaks is still arguing against Russian involvement in relation to the 13 page report.

Just a new form of cold-warfare. There won't be real warfare over this, just things escalating along the cyber war-front. Business as usual, basically.

Things could get very ugly, however. I'm betting government sponsored cyber-terrorism is going to ramp up in the coming years and will probably attack the private sector, as well, in an attempt to undermine economic confidence.

This won't lead to war, they did it. Putin won. He got the guy he wanted elected. Now, we're in for at least four years of Putin stomping all over eastern Europe and the Middle East without any push back from the US.

The only reason why Europe is falling right now is only due for US involvement in the middle-east, so that we were forced to follow the humanitarian policies against our own safety..
