I used to watch OBE1 but now every video is too loud, crazy, and kind of unprofessional. HE has the hype but everything else falls flat. If he gets this right though, his street cred is going through the roof.

Anyways, Nintendo did say there was a secret that we don't know about. Maybe it's VR.

I don't understand why this is a big rumor when the patents a few weeks back pointed to potential VR applications with the Switch.

I hope so, there needs to be more devs making vr so it will have a bigger splash on the market.

Because most people dismissed it as a simple patent, and not for something Nintendo would use anytime soon. People aren't expecting Switch to utilize VR day 1. Nintendo has also quietly shrugged VR to the side in the past, only saying that they're looking into the technology. In addition to this, he says he knows about games that are coming to it. We'll just have to see if his sources are legit.

I've been saying the Switch will have VR for a long time based on the fact Amazon listed Switch as compatible with their VR shopping experience and the tablet design and removable controllers are perfectly setup for VR. I think it will happen and quite likely at launch but also possibly as a later addition.

I think the basic package will be the  Switch with dock and the deluxe pack is the Switch with dock and VR HMD so consumers can go either way.

Nintendo needs to maximise sales by offering a product that doesn't have VR for those who don't want it but also another for those like me who are super keen on VR and splitting it into 2 retail packs is the easiet way. Just offering it as an optional accessory isn't good enough I think because they need the VR HMD to have a significant percentage of the Switch userbase.

God no.

Just sold my ps vr cause its just not good enough. It worked well on simple ass games.

But a real PS4 game in VR is honestly 5 years away.

VR with what 400gflops the PS4 struggles with over four times that power. Hell the pro even struggles to provide a convincing picture with ten times the power.

People keep writing comments like this but surely no one expects the Switch to compete with PSVR. It's like criticising a bicycle because even a Kawasaki 1300cc motorbike can't get to 200mph when no one is expecting a bicycle to get to 200mph. This is going to be closer to the google cardboard VR experience than the Sony PSVR. These are 2 VR systems at different levels. If someone loves Switch VR they may want to upgrade to Sony PSVR to get more ambitious games, better immersion and a higher resolution VR experience. I don't know what price the Nintendo HMD will be but its going to be pretty basic because pretty much everything is in the tablet I'm sure.

I'm guessing the premium Switch pack includes the VR HMD and maybe a version of Splatoon that is also VR compatible.

No I am expecting a very lackluster experience with Switch VR since PSVR has remained very mediocre thus far.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I was going to get the PSVR and PS4 pro but I'm still waiting for the games to justify it. It's a huge amount of money. I honestly think many of Nintendo's IP's will be a good fit for VR including Splatoon, Mario Kart, Pilotwings, F Zero and their motion control games. Like motion controls, VR is good for casual gaming. Many people won't want to be using the HMD for too long and I can see it working well for the majority for short sessions. I'm clearly hopeing for some more serious VR stuff too but I think Nintendo's approach is going to be about their fun IP's in VR.

It's less than a month away, and DC VR works great too in VR. Nvm Rez Infinite is a real game, on ps4.
What do you consider a real PS4 game?

Potential VR, hopefully removes potential complaints.

Then again this is gaming.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

A full aaa game, and DC vr is disgustingly ugly.
