Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Laura Dale rumor: Assassin's Creed 2017 is coming to the Switch

Thoughts on this? I could see this happen, but I'm not sure how well it would sell. I might end up buying it, time will tell.

if this is true, then good bye for a hope that the next assassins creed would be worth a damn. if they want to regain interest in the series, dont limit it by making their next game have to run on a .15 teraflop device. use the power that the PS4 and XB1 consoles have to create an epic world.

I remember what happened to the last Nintendo console that got an AC port.

Assasins Creed games are known for how good they are at optimising them right?
I kinda share Bananaking's viewpoint, that if this is true, its going to limit what the game ends up being on XB1/PS4.

Thoughts? Hopefully it's a great ac like syndicate and not a shitty ac like unity...and black flag. And about the switch, that's good, more games is a good thing so I don't see how this could be negative.

Where do you get this nonsense? AC4 was on Wii U and it was one of the best ACs to date. I didn't see any limits on that one on PC.

Do you know about scalability? Cause that's a very ignorant point of view. You know that you can play a game with different settings on PC for a reason, and that the witcher 3 looks like crap on consoles compared to ultra settings on PC? You can expect the same game on switch with a lower resolution and less detail, but portable.

Well considering that Ubisoft has had access to both PS4 and XbOne for quite some time now and have done nothing remarkable with the series yet! I don't think the Switch would be what holds this game back from achieving greatness...

it was also on the PS3 and XB1. it was a cross gen title. im not talking about limits graphically, but limits to the size of the world, the number of objects on screen, the dialogue, number of NPC's, complexity of the AI, animations (which are extremely important to AC games). if they want to make sure the same game runs on hardware that is 12 weaker than the PS4. then sacrifices will be made. no way around it. i had hope when the leaks of this game happened, and it said it was influenced by The Witcher 3, but if its coming on switch, then a lot of the things TW3 did right wont be able to be done on this.

I don't care about AC, but if AC is ported to the Switch, it's possible that more AAA third party games are coming. I thought Switch wasn't going to be powerful enough.
