Forums - Microsoft Discussion - I'm finally playing Gears 4, lets talk about it.

Gears 4 was great, up there with the best of 2016. I did find the writting alittle stupid at times however for what the game brings to the table, great action, great gameplay and great visusls. I say its a must buy if you have a XB1 or a powerful enough PC.
Seeing Sera outside the dark atmosphere that the trilogy offered looks amazing. HDR works great on this game.

i've enjoyed what i've played but the problem i'm having is that the pc population is really low, its quite difficult to find games outside of the playlist

I dont have my xbox yet, since I am waiting on the scorpio but I played gears 4 on pc and its one of the best games I played all year :D I am really excited about the final entries in the series and I hope to replay the game in 4K this holliday!

It's a good game, a must own if you have an X1 or have Windows 10.

Proud to be a Californian.

I loved 1-3 (mostly for the campaign) but Gears 4 was just

-we need to find someone.
-we found them but now, they're gone.
-we found them, now let's go find someone else.
-we found them. Roll credits.

I was really disappointed. Game was beautiful at times, though. Combat was as good as ever.

True story: I bought my daughter an Xbox One for Christmas. It came with a retail copy of Gears 4 (which I already owned). We tried to give it away on Christmas and nobody wanted it. I think her cousin wound up taking it. I'm not sure if he's even going to play it. He's one of those sports gamers.

I saw a gameplay video, looks cool. I liked 1 and 2, they are good fun.
But I ain´t buying anything till june, I want to take my credit card from 1000 bucks to ZERO monthly =)

I am doing amazing progress by the way:

October:  1000. USD

November: 600 USD

December: 350 USD!!!!

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

My GOTY, in fact! Very few negatives for me. The campaign is quite enjoyable (despite a few of the script decisions), but the Horde/Multiplayer stuff is where the game shines.

I'm not too big on the numerics, but if I had to rate it, it'd be North of 95!

Wow, 95%. For comparison, which other 2016 games would you put as 2nd and 3d?

95?!? Holly Crap! Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.

Played some more of the game since posting this thread and I'd say it's a solid mid-80's game for me.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Like I said, there's almost no actual story here. Just a very loose series of events to move you from one shootout to another. But it's a lot of fun!
