How much do you focus on productivity?

A lot 5 13.51%

Some 9 24.32%

A little 7 18.92%

None 16 43.24%

Total:37

Although this applies to everyone, as you get older it becomes more and more apparent, more and more concerning. We have goals in life, some our own, and some that are a bit forced upon us, whether it be our commitments to our passions and hobbies, or our reponsibilities toward our family and friends.

We have to problem solve, think inside the box, outside the box, however it is you like to define "finding a solution" But it all depends on how we make the most of our day. Preceding this imo would be a thread dedicated toward the whole notion of how seriously we should even take our life goals to begin with - something along the lines of contentment and not wanting so much, and perhaps it may even hold a reasonable place in this particular thread after all.

So, "making the most out of our day".

How to be productive.

Honestly I've been dedicated to this for a while, but it seems more ripe a topic than ever right now. Things that really got me going on it lately have been success books spanning from Malcolm Gladwell's Outliers and Tipping point all the way to more direct literature like Scott Adam's How to fail at everything and still win big, or other similar authors like Tim Ferris.

Then there are basic solutions like

  • Get up earlier
  • Mental affirmations rooted in Mantras, Meditation, Smiling etc.
  • "Brain Train" through novelty (learning new things: language, games, musical instruments, etc.)
  • Eat healthier
  • Socialize more (Networking, Improve communication skills)

So, what are your biggest sticking points so far in life. Your worst Ones? Things you see that work in others. Something that is counterintuitive or that people focus on too much? Let's all try to get better!

Or does it never end?

Here's my issue:

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Productivity is overrated. Especially if you are rich. YOLO

I'm surprised, three answered "none."

Sometimes I wake up between 3-5am and am relatively note tired, meaning I went to bed probably at 10am and did not use all my energy that previous day. I usually get up at 630am.

Should I just use those extra two hours?

I go to bed at 3am, now way I'm getting up early! I like to stay fit, other than that no goals besides raising my kids right, but that's a given. Enjoying freedom from schedules and expectations as much as possible. If I could I would ban all clocks and live on a tidally locked planet in perpetual light. I guess that's a goal :)

The thing I have more trouble with is getting up early, it's a struggle for me.

I'm working to achieve mental and physical peak.

I do the productive things I have to to pay bills and stay healthy. Other than that I try to enjoy life. I don't find doing odd projects, or constantly tinkering with the house, cars, or property all that special. I am not interested in learing about new cultures or languages. I find the best thing for me, is to get out and enjoy everything, walking, jogging, hiking, swiming, or staying inside and watching movies, listening to music, playing games, or indoor excersize. My goal in life is to be happy, and I work every day to stay as happy I as possible.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Cool, that's great.

This seems, from my perspective, to be more of a less is more approach which I struggle every now and then with how to fit that into my lifestyle. Sort of stick to the basics. I know I have in me a hard-wired mentality to sort of "make it big or go home" attitude on life. I mean I'm guessing you enjoy your day job as well? It's satisfying?

Yes, my job is pretty mucb exactly what I want to do. I work at in the aerospace industry and have done everything from machining to assembly, painting and much more.  My current job is a mixtute of production, development, and repair/modified part fabrication. Some times it is easy, sometimes it is stressful, but most of the time it is satisfing and enjoyable.
