BraLoD said: Holding a handheld is just not a good option for Sony anymore, they don't sell as much as they used to, and Sony can't sell handhelds like Nintendo. Sony doesn't have enough franchises that translate well being simpler, like Nintendo do, so making games is way more expensive and risky, and get way less return for Sony than what Nintendo get, plus Nintendo brand power on the handheld market is just much bigger, the PSP was a big success, indeed, but was in a time Nintendo also pulled almost a PS2 with the DS, so another PSP like success is just wishful thinking, not even the 3DS will sell as much as the PSP did. There is not much to win for Sony there anymore, fully focusing on their consoles is a better idea, trying to make their Xperia phone line more popular as well. |
Would have to agree with this ^^^
I also can't help but think that the mobile gaming community (I'm talking predominantly about cell phone games and mainstream casual playing people.) would make it hard for a "new" VITA to gain any ground on the market. Sad I know but unfortunately that is most likely probable, at least at this point in time.
