Forums - Gaming Discussion - What is the difference between a good and great game?

Much like many have said, a good game is enjoyable, entertaining but ultimately once you are done with it, you are done. Great is one you want to do back to over and over. Sometimes hard to recognise with never ending online mp games. :P

Generally, you'll see the terms 'good' and 'great' thrown around when discussing video games. In your opinion, what separates a good game from a great game?

FFXV is good, XCX is great

If someone says a game is good, I will probably find it unplayable. If someone tells me a game is great, I will get bored after a week.

I think it comes down to two major factors:

1) The ideas.
2) The execution.

A good game is a game I can enjoy and put down whenever I want. - A great game is a game where I am forced not to sleep untill I have completed it, it's like crack. (Sadly, they don't happen often anymore!)
