I never got into Naruto, buuuuut I'm sure this is going to be atrocious either way.

@op I don't see why there's so much hate for naruto. If you really want to talk about bland, look at SAO. If you want to see bad anime, look at slice of life animes or vampire-related anime. The general world of Naruto itself is much better than most series. I know some people who dislike the series, but still play the games. 

Hate to sound like a defender, but the hate is ridiculous. Literally any popular anime is bashed to death by everyone on the internet. Doesn't make you cool if you love an unknown series or despise a popular series.

I actually agree witht is 100%....I felt Naruto had some really deep moments....and I agree I feels ome people(not all) choose to not like whatis popular to say hey that is stupid and I don't like it...well I like Naruto...I like DBZ and all that other popular stuff plus unknown smaller things as well.

No offense, but being mad at naruto if it white washes some characters is stupid.

When do you ever see people like naruto in japan? Or gai? They're all based on Western people.

I understand if gara, shikamaru, tsuchikage, and others are asian, but it's seriously ridiculous if you'd blame white washing for changing their race.

They don't even have a race. They're all from villages. I'd expect them to have white people for people like naruto, asians for people like shikamaru, and black people for the cloud village.

If they want to change the race, then they can be my guest. I mean, Nick Fury was originally white, but they made him black. Never saw the outrage in that. You know why though? It's because there wasn't an audience to overreact to it (and Samuel l Jackson is badass).

I think what matters most is simply making the characters look like who they're supposed to be. I don't want Lee to have small eyes when in reality he has huge eyes.

I don't want shikamaru to be some fat white dude when he's actually a skinny person who looks like an asian.

Ninjas do not originate from Western people. However, it's obvious that kishimoto chose to have western-influenced appearances for many of his characters.
