I'm just imagining the incoming shitstorm. There are so many sides to this problem sandwitch I can't even begin to count them...

I'm wondering as to why Hollywood even continues to bother with Japanese anime. They failed horribly with DBZ, you'd think they would learn to either approach it the way Japan does with their takes on Live action (Still not as good, but better than what the US could ever pull), or simply not bother with it at all. I think they keep at the same chopping block simply based on their success with comic book movies, they think they can take on Anime the same way and succeed as well.

I lol'd.

Some things don't easily translate to live action. Animation works because it blends fantastic well, in order to pull off a giant demon fox and magic ninjas you'll need a massive budget and likely still won't feel as seemless. I would ask why even bother, but I know people will say to make money. To that I'd say I doubt a 100+ million Naruto film would make much of a profit as outside core fanbase general audiences could be a tough sell.

This is gonna be as terrible as the dbz movie, well maybe the special effects will be better but that's about it.

If they focus on the more strategic side of battles like the anime did until the Ninja war and later Sasuke fights I can see it MAYBE working a little (just not summons or huge DBZ level attacks). Try to focus on the smarter side of the ninja battles. Also don't do what the Dragonball movie that shall go unnamed did and try to jump straight to the more popular villain or cram in seasons worth of meetings and powers and villains into one frankenstein of a story. Just focus on one villain and keep it fairly faithful.

Movie 1: Everyone meeting, brief hint at 3rd hokage, Zabuza as main villain. This story actually has a nice 3 act structure already with them meeting and fighting the Zabuza in act 1, getting introduced to the bridge village and training a little in act 2, and then the final fight on the bridge and the Nine tails ex machina as the big act 3 finale. Cut out flashbacks and repetitive dialogue and some unnecessary characters and convos (the whole kid with the dead dad can be whittled down and the first attack with the chain ninjas can be written out). Also can probably cut some of the classroom stuff and initial drama between Sasuke and him out.  Can easily be 2 hours

Movie 2: Chunin exam and Orochimaru intro.  Act 1 is them entering the exam and the forrest part (can cut the Sakura finding herself part and just make her capable throughout).  Act 2 is the individual fights and of course most of those would need to be cut (we don't Sakura v Ino for instance or Neji v what's her face).  Naruto vs dog guy is a good fight and he's the main character so keep that.  Then have Sasuke quickly dispatch of his, montage of others winning, and then have Gaara vs lee be an unexpectedly awesome finale (no it doesn't have to have Naruto be the final battle in the movie).  Can't do the final round or Gaara in this movie so just hint at his monster and Orochimaru would be introduced in full in the forrest of course.  Can again easily fit into 2 hours or less

Movie 3:  Chunin exam final.  Training for it, 3rd Hokage gives answers about Orochimaru to Kakashi and his team, then Naruto vs Neji, then finally Sasuke vs Gaara causes all the sand shit to go down.  Naruto vs. Gaara caps off the trilogy

I am Iron Man

Yeah no thanks leave it as is......and I love Naruto personally(well obviously lol)

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

"As with most Hollywood films, just because it’s in pre-production, that doesn’t mean the movie will be shot and released. Thankfully."

So there's a bit of hope that it still may never see the light. Few years ago they also said Hollywood was planning on doing a Bleach live action movie but we haven't anything new about that since.

Dragon ball happened - so will this.

Mannn I was trying to make myself feel better by saying that.  You're not helping! xD ...T_T
