This is nothing like REmake... so i don't even see how it can be a comparison.

RE7 is nothing more than an indie game with a bloated budget. I don't expect it to be anything more than an "outlast", "slender" or all those first person corridor simulator horror games.

Hopefully REmake 2 is on its way and we can get some proper RE.

There is an arsenal confirmed of handgun, shotgun, magnum, flamethrower and granade launcher. All the core elements of the classic RE games are present like the item boxes/safe rooms (safe room are confirmed to have the iconic save room music), puzzle solving - exploring/backtracking  and so forth. Its the most RE game in the last ten years.

Only the kids who liked the action nosense of Re4-6 probably wont like it.

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

Well, we should at least wait until the game is released and see how well it does. However, what I'm worried about is what they'll do if it's a success. They'll either take it as survival horror being viable again and potentially making classic-style games, or they'll view it as this type of game that is successful and make more games like this.

The gunplay looks satisfying, there are no QTEs, but you can perform some moves like kicking an enemy indirectly.

That could be said about any AA and AAA game.

I was very concerned trailer after trailer, but the last demo finally gave me hope, there were very clever (even really criptic) puzzles and finally some action with a scary ass monster! Aside from the cat and mouse stuff that was being shown all the way up until now.

So yeah, I'm also excited for it. It's not like RE 2/3 or even RE4, that I absolutely love, but it surely has some nice ideas and if put together as well as on that last demo, with some more action (the inventory is so tiny, and we didn't even see herbs, we need action to need herbs, and no herbs = no resident evil, so...), we might have the best RE since 4.

Can't watch it right now (at work).
Pics or didn't happen.

As much "fun" as the Resident evil games from 4 on were i must say something was lost in translation with the departure from a survival horror focus to a more action oriented theme.

Resident evil 4 was the genesis of this. It brought so much to the franchise as well as the gaming industry in regards to its over the shoulder 3rd person view. And lets face it, that game from a gameplay perspective was just plain fun. I can't count how many playthrough I did personally.

But with that shift to a more action oriented ride it lost what made the previous entries so good. Suddenly limited save points, creepy environments, and dwindling supplies and ammo were thrown out in favor of a more convenient and "casual gamer" friendly approach. But, like I said earlier, thats what made it so fun.

However, 5 (while still being fun) brought the horror notch down even further with the addition of a mandatory partner. I think it goes without saying that walking down a creepy looking hallway with a buddy isn'y nearly as scary as if doing it alone.
Resident evil 6.... yeah... 6. About that.

As much as I love the RE series that one was an even further departure from what made it a breakout series to begin with. If someone could discredit the other entires as not fully being action dominated than they would have a hard time arguing their case for this entry. For the sake of Shigeru Miyamoto, that scene where you ran over the cars was just so ridiculous. Suddenly zombies flying planes and shooting a whole assortment of fire arms at you were the norm. It's funny too because the game started off looking like it would be a shift back to the older entries (the beginning with leon in the mansion/ballroom.). But alas, everything went downhill fast.

It's no wonder there has been widespread skepticism in regards to RE7. I have to admit I was one of these people too. The shift to 1st person also caught a lot of avid RE fans off guard and gave them yet another reason to worry. Once again, I was one of these people. It wasn't until I played the demo that I realized that Capcom was onto something. Hopefully the demo is a very good indication of what we are getting.
