That "independent journalist" contributes to a news site funded by the Russian government and has proclaimed herself as a supporter of the current regime.  Some of what she says in that video is also very much disputed, with her claim of the same child appearing as a victim in multiple videos having been proven false.

Bethania Markus is a US based Journalist, she contibutes to US media outlets

Eva Bartlett as an indepenbdant Journalist will of course contribute to any media outlet that lets her, including RT, it does not austomatically make what she says less true because it wasnt supported by US MSM

Eva gives her views in a straight forward open way, she may of course be wrong, but so could Bethania Markus

I didn't say she was wrong.  I'm giving people information.  Simply because someone has a video on youtube does not mean they should be trusted automatically.  Also, she has declared herself as a supporter of the current regime, so she is not an independent source.

As I said in the other thread, there are several things about her presentation that bothered me, including the way she seems to accept what Russia says at face value.

What's the problem with me giving another side?

Nothing

I’m not criticizing you, actually I respect that you looked into it, I'm just giving my view

If I were the Russian representative, I would respond with " Those who live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones."

" Rebellion Against Tyrants Is Obedience To God"

Would have been a good reply.

This is about Russia wanting to sell oil/gas to europe, and the US wanting to freeze russia out of sales.

Their on oppersite sides of the fence is all.

Well she has given facts. She works more closer with ideal journo ethics to me. She has backed her statements with evidence, and this does not denigrate her status by any means she is the regime supporter. She has alleged that the mercenaries are indirectly responsible for the civilian attacks where their foothold was high. Technically journos try to work and report mostly from areas where they are not under seige by the rebel militia and directly listen to the horse's mouth. ISIS is the biggest threat that is still lurking as a solid threat followed by multitude of other rebel forces across the Syrian cities like Aleppo. Agents of news correspondence are much limited in their areas. so we are reliant on compromised media.

Why would you think she is more ethical?  Based on what?  A lot of her facts are "the Russian government said" or "she talked to some people who said."  The reason I looked her up in the first place is that parts of her presentation (at a pro-regime conference) seemed odd.  Why is she doubting everyone in the west but taking the Russian government at their word?  Why is she trying so hard to make Russia look noble?  Why did she say that western media has no direct news then say that she was there in-country with other members of the western media?  I think these are all reasonable points of doubt.  She also never gave a reason why all western media would lie beyond "they want a regime change," which doesn't tell us anything.

She does say some interesting things but I see no reason to assign her any special degree of trust and a few reason to view what she says with a pinch of skepticism.
