Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump: 'Nobody Really Knows' If Climate Change Is Real

Out of curiosity, why not? It's not like he didn't have any ideas, and so far he's been very co-operative and diplomatic. More than Obama ever was.

Nobody really knows if he'll be a good president either, nearly 50% still voted for him...

He is a man many people can relate to. Why should this be beyond understanding?

"Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time."

Hunting Season is done...

I like his attitude. That's an honest, humble statement, because it's fact that nobody really knows.

The predictions by the international panel for climate change has this far been wrong, and constantly overestimated the temperature. The models still don't work. We don't know the true climate sensitivity of CO2 yet.

He sounds like someone who only cares about money

Climate change is real, cause well it's obviously real. We know the Earth changes on its own all the time over time. Sooner or later we will be in another Ice Age, or huge melating, ect. Nothing we do can stop that.

As for the scientists and humans being so bad. Well I don't like the scientists doing climate change. Why. Two reasons.
1. They don't release their actual data. All we ever see is their summaries and "findings" Not the actual hard data. Call me skeptical when every other science paper in the world you can find their research and see thir hard data that shows each finding, and what they used, left out, ect. It's all too secretive for me. Why should scientific data pertaining to climate be top secret?
2. Money. Not only are these scientific groups getting huge amounts of money for their secret data, but politicians or companies with connections are making a killing off of regulations and stuff. I mean Al Gore makes millions off of selling Energy credits. Why does he get to sell energy credits?

I saw a pic the other day, or meme, whatever ou want to call it. It was something like showing a politician yelling at someone saying "how dare you trick us into making the world a better place"
I correlate with that. As much as I don't trust anything these climate scientists are saying and doing, I am 100% for doing better things for the environment. Whether its LED lights, better car emissions, less plastic use, ect. I just hate the climate debate though cause it's so shady, imo.

During the last ice age, there was 11 times more CO2 in the air than today.

It's all the cows fault

He has a point. Scientists always think they know something, once upon a time the scientific community thought the Earth was flat and that the Sun revolved around the Earth, they were wrong. Modern Science is not incontrovertible. While the climate definitely is changing, there is no way to know for certain that it's human caused rather than the natural climate changes this planet has had.

The assumption that the earth was flat and the sun revolving the earth was made back in a time when facts didn't matter, only what the bible said. When you dared to assume something else, you would be punished like what happened with Galileo. Now we make predictions based on facts. This is how we got on the moon. This is how we make flu shots. This is how we estimated the rising temperature because we know CO2 holds heat. It may not be always 100% true, but there is some truth to it that you cannot simply ignore and happily continue with CO2 emissions.

Our understanding of chemistry is sufficient to make the statement that increased atmospheric CO2 increases temperature in the long term absolutely trivial. Science has determined a round earth for several thousand years niw, by the way. The example is bad, because a flat earth is not a scientific conclusion, but an assumption that was made in the lack of sufficient information to make a theory.
