Is the Earth round? Who knows...

It's been proven by maths.

Climate change has been proven by liberal science, apples, oranges.

Liberal science? What does that even mean?

No one, except, you know... scientists.

99% of the scientific community agrees that global warming is real
98% of them are in complete agreement that it is an urgent threat.
And 99,99% out of c.a. 14.000 scientific articles on the subject concluded that it's real.

But "nobody really knows".

Too true...  at this point, its like saying you dont believe the world is round.... there are people that believe in a "flat world theory".

A few days ago I was watching a stream from a NASA spacestation, looking down at the earth turning.

The astronaut was doing repairs or something.... and it struck me.... how can anyone still believe the world is flat... when we can watch it with our own eyes from outta space, like this?

Climate change is much the same.

I much rather people just be honest and go "I dont give too sh*ts if I mess up this planet, I ll be dead a 100years from now when things get bad".

Politicans are just to damn shady, and instead go "I dont know man! Nobody really knows".

They know.. they just bullshit people, and in reality dont care. Its just money intrests for them.

There are people who don't believe we've ever been into space or on the moon or anything like that.  They think everything is just a hoax.  There's no convincing them because they are idiots. (Not talking about anyone here since I don't know if anyone here thinks like that)

The climate is very complex and not understood at all, thus predictions are impossible. (Statement by the the IPCC Working Group I, if they admit that predictions are impossible, why are we talking about predicted global warming).

And the effects of CO2 are minimal, it would violate the laws of physics and aerodynamics if CO2 had a larger effect. CO2 is not bad, it is essential for all life to exist and leads to global greening. Also the climate changed very little in the last hundred years and is always changing since the earth was born. It goes from warmer ages to ice ages to warmer ages and so on and will never stop changing.

I am not an expert on the matter myself. But after talking to several physicists and aerodynamics engineers, they convinced me that the predicted link between CO2 and warming must be minimal and cannot be the major cause for climate change. In the peak of an an average warm age there will be and has always been no ice on the north and south pole. So trying to keep the temperature change smalll in order to prevent the ice from melting is useless anyway. Because it will melt completely and after that there will be an ice age as it always happend in the last hundreds of millions of years.

The irony is that with everything Trump says about climate change... With his endorsement of fast-tracking nuclear energy, especially Gen IV reactors, America will likely be a lot cleaner and better off than what it'd be if we continued to go to renewables + NatGas for baseline and backup systems.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

You've lost me here.

The shape of the molecule... it floats really well in the air :)

Yeah I dont get what Aerodynamics has to do with understanding greenhouse effects.

I trust those that actually research the subject to be the most knowledgable about the issue, and thus those you should listen too.

If 99% of those researchers say Climate changes lately are partly man made, I believe that.

True, technically.
Just like nobody knows if gravity is real. You want a cookie Donald?

True, Nuclear should be able to tide us over until fushion becomes economically viable.
But at the same time he wants to increase fracking and fossil fuels in general, competing nuclear and renewables out of the market.

Easy. "Liberal media can't be trusted". There you go.

Well... God made the earth and since God is perfect he wouldn't make such a dumb mistake, right?
He loves us, so he will help us when times are hard (like he always did in the past?)
So we shouldn't care about things like climate change, we can do whatever we want.

By the way, why would we believe scientists? They lied about the evolution theory and about the earth being round too.

(This is not my opinion, but this is how some religious people seem to think.)

As far as I remember the bible says something about creating humans with free will. So I would presume this means that we are able to screw up earth if we want to, even from a human perspective.

I mean, I doubt many christians, or other religious would think that the nuclear threat during the cold war was made up because god wouldn't allow it. Christianity, and probably other religions to without me knowing anything about it more than opens up for us screwing up everything.

The popes scientist (in the 1500s or something) once said the rings of saturn were remnants from jesus' foreskin. So they are right in believing that scientists aren't always right...

I know quite a few devout christians here at med. School that have no problem accepting these theories. This is because they look at the bible as moral teachings, not just a lot of 100% true stories. I wish more were like them, but hey, what could you do?
