I'd argue the opposite. The PR backlash for this would be very, very bad. Like, very bad.

Obviously the PR backlash would be very bad, but I think sales wise it would more likely help the Switch rather than damper it, not by much though, but I imagine it would help, but it wouldn't be worth it. They would essentially be trading fan trust for a bit more sales.

I'm saying that the bad PR would effect Switch sales in general.

Gamers are usually very forgiving.

Yeah, they forgave the XBO, too.

They shown the Wii U logo at the end of the Trailer at the Video Game Awards. And we saw them playing the gamepad.

What a waste it would be for Nintendo.

the game is still 3 to 6 months away from release. So anything can happen.
We've seen worse things happen.

But let's hope it doesn't

I would love to see what happens on this forum when Nintendo announces that this game is indeed cancelled for Wii U. After claiming tons of times it will release on the Wii U, yooka laylee also skips the Wii U, so anything is possible.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

I don't think that Nintendo wants to lose all their fans trust before launching Switch. WiiU owners will be mad if it's true

I don't think Nintendo can lose its core base. That's what makes Nintendo special. whether it is underpowered consoles, re releases, lack of third party, gimmicks, bad PR, shitty dlc via Amiibos etc Nintendo will always have that core 10-15 million fanbase that will support anything Nintendo does.

At the end of the day, you can't find that Disney magic on any system other than Nintendo and losing BotW on WiiU might upset people, but not enough for Nintendo to lose sales.

In a way I don't think it's a bad decision though. if they are expecting their userbase to move to the switch sooner rather than later (if they haven't moved already), then it would be better to just release it on Switch. Although they might lose tons of sales from people wanting to double dip.

This is pretty dumb. The WiiU logo is everywhere in official publications. You can pre-order it through official channels and they demoed the WiiU version lots of times. The last of which mere days ago. Really the only thing you have to do is go to zelda.com. It's not cancelled.

In my personal case, i was getting it on the NS anyway.

I can understand the reasons for a possible cancellation on Wii U but this would very bad PR if true.
Maybe it's just temporary, but the internet can have a long memory at times. Did people really forgive the X1...?

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Is Nintendo DOOMED? The game has already been shown on the WiiU multiple times, no reason to throw it away.
