Forums - Sony Discussion - Why do we still not have EA Access on PS4?

It's threads like these that show the loyal blind fanbase defending everything their favorite company does. Thanks for the laughs and mental gymnastics.

This.

If Sony get EA Access in the future, I am sure they will change their tune immediately to support Sony.

So Sony screws their PlayStation owners to get back at EA?  That's awesome.

But the loyal fanbase! It broke their heart that ea went in bed with ms last gen, how do they even dare to side with the console that dominated the western market last gen. Only bad companies do so and Sony of course is aware of that, they know everything.

Most EA games sold more on Playstation last gen so they definitely didn't dominate.  Not only were they in bed last gen,  but they double down into a king size bed this gen.  Shooting themselves in both feet instead of one.

They screwed themselves and their fans on Playstation.  EA access not being allowed on Playstation is retribution.  They might learn their lesson now.  Good guy Sony always wins.  Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

I fear that you actually believe that, although my mind tells me no one can say something like this and being serious with it. This is beyond loyalty, this is persecution complex paired with superiority thinking like I didn't see it for quite some time on this forum.

Also many games sold more on Xbox and in total they also sold more on Xbox.

I don't know what is more troubling, the idea that Sony would screw over their own customers as "retribution" towards a publisher for supposed slights in a previous generation, or the fact that you're like.. openly celebrating that possibility. LOL. Please tell us you are just yanking our chains.

As for EA Access and the OPs question, I think what simply happened is Sony lessened their PS+ offerings mightily when they made it a requirement for online play, and they know some people aren't going to play online and have no reason to keep a PS+ subscription. So in that regard, EA Access is a hell of a deal. So they simply said no thanks. I don't buy into this BS that they are giving EA some revenge for last gen. EA made deals with both companies last gen, same as this gen.

I don't know the history of EA and Sony. I owned a PS3 and an Xbox 360 last gen and I don't really remember any favoritism. And even if there were, why would it be any worse than Grand Theft Auto giving M$ a one year exclusive to GTAIV dlc or Call of Duty giving Xbox players first access to certain content?

Also, does Sony want EA Access? Does EA want their service on PlayStation 4? I legitimately do not know. Somebody educate me with some facts because this thread isn't doing it.

What I do know is that I'm on week two of a month long free trial and when it runs out, I'm signing up. Need For Speed franchise, Battlefield franchise, Plants vs Zombies franchise, Mass Effect franchise, Start Wars Battlefront, Unravel, Dragon Age, etc are too much to pass up for less than the price of a burger a month.

Because there is no need for another digital distribution platform mess like we have on PC.

Sony claims it doesn't provide good value to it's customers.

$30 a year (which is $2.50 a month) is apparently too much for 35+ free games, a 10% discount on all EA titles, a 10 hour free trial of new games along with up to a week of early access.

It's just some PR bullsh*t because they would rather have the $30 a year go to PS+ or PS Now.

one big disadvantage on the ps4 would be they don't offer the old games, when you get EA Access on xbox you can also go and play the mass effect games, ssx, and some other xbox classics, with more being added as they become available.

Anyway, 2,50 a month and instant access to all last years sports titles, dragonage the new mirrors edge and new games being added regularly, yeah that beats the free games from PSNPlus by a landslide.

I hope they change their position on this.

Oh my days ,You Sony guys are too much... F'ing hell. This is amazing ...seriously gold standard amazing!

I can't believe what im actually reading .

Im going to go back and read it all again , just for the laughs.

OP I guess Sony want any subscription revenue coming their way.I doubt MS makes a huge amount directly from the service. But its a great feature to have regardless of what some people may have you think. I've been subbed for the last 2 years and I feel like i got my moneys worth and more . £40 for the 2 years btw.

Mind you the billing does go through MS rather EA??So who knows.

Sure... Lets all preted Sony has some obligation to open the doors to services that they deem not benificial for their own ecosystem just because some whiners online, who probably don't even have a playstation (or not their main console) determine they are owed something.

If you guys want an open (kind of) platform, just get a gaming pc.

Personally I say fuck ea access and their practice, especially artificially keeping early access on games for a monthly fee when the game should be released at the same time to everyone buying it day 1.

Keep it up Sony

EA games sell millions so it seems pretty beneficial to the ecosystem.

Lol having a service that gives u 10% off EA games/DLC, 35 games, and early access does not make it an open platfotm because all downloads still come from the PS store.

Lol how does other people getting to play 10 hours before a game comes out negativly affect you?
