It's absolutely astounding that people are trying to discredit this simply because they supported Trump.

Get over yourself. It doesn't fucking matter who you supported. Leave your bloody, stupid party politics at the door.

The important thing is that a foreign country was taking covert and illegal actions to influence the election of the President of the United States. That cannot be allowed. It helped your candidate get elected so you're alright with it? Grow up. It could very well be reversed next time. No one should ever be alright with that, regardless of who won.

This needs to be taken seriously in Washington--and I assume it will be taken seriously, as I'm sure the CIA is aware that this is more important than just the Trump and Clinton Show.

I also would like to add that steps should be taken to tighten security oversight and implement tougher punishments for cases like the Hilary Clinton and Colin Powell email screw-ups.

If this happened like, say, four years ago, I think the response would be much different. One of the more interesting recent turns in America's political divide is just how little each side trusts each other. The rise of fake news stories, various stories of corruption involving Trump and Clinton, and myriad of conspiracy theories have all played a role in this. In short, it's not that people discredit it because they vote Trump, it's that they don't believe it because of their political leanings. That is the truly scary part, in my opinion.

And this goes both ways, too. Clinton supporters who were adament that election fraud could not possibly exist were willing to donate millions of dollars to a recount fund after their candidate lost. People's beliefs are changing at a rapid pace to simply suit what's convenient to them. If it's anything the other side says, it's a lie. If it's anything your side says, it's the truth.

As a human being, it's embarrassing.  The only criteria many people seem to care about is if something is good for their "side" or bad for the other "side".  All you need to do is make something up, dress it up a little, post it online, and you'll have people quoting and upvoting you.  They won't question it as long as it is favorable to their own preconceptions.

We've had viral email and talk radio pundits making up things for a long time, of course, but with the internet, we seem to have entered a new level of sheepdom.  The newest bit of obvious manipulation seems to be people who understand that they can't take major news outlets at face value yet, at the same time, they're being absolute puppets to "alt news" organizations.  I can't even wrap my head around that.

It's one of the reasons I loathe politics.  People aren't just willing to believe fake news, they fall all over themselves in eagerness to spread it.  Even on these forums, we have several members who don't seem to care at all if what they are posting is true or not, as long as it furthers their agenda.

Question everything--especially if you want to believe it.

I'm aware of what Wikileaks is. I said nothing about Wikileaks being the ones who should have released the pussy video. I said they were supposedly privy to no dirt. Not none of the ones media released. Surely there's a lot more dirt the media didn't get their hands on, whether due to access or out of fear of retaliation, on a businessman with his hand in so many deals over the years, deleting his own emails in defiance of court orders, etc. Inteligence agencies also believed that the hacks that pryed out damaging information against Clinton originated from Russia. The hackers ties to wikileaks can be questioned, but that doesn't matter since the subject is actually Russia and not wikileaks specifically. They didn't seem interested in hacking Trump.

There's a difference between focusing more on one side while reporting on both, and only reporting and digging on one side.

Russia is no News Media.

“Simple minds have always confused great honesty with great rudeness.” - Sherlock Holmes, Elementary (2013).

"Did you guys expected some actual rational fact-based reasoning? ...you should already know I'm all about BS and fraudulence." - FunFan, VGchartz (2016)

This is really sad... I was hoping it would turn out the Russia wasn't playing dirty despite the obvious dirty tactics employed by some of Trump's people. Not saying the other side is clean... but there was some confirmation a while back on some of the Wikileak's articles being doctored and edited. It's possible they were selective and what they released as well. There also seemed to be some timing on a couple of releases.

It's definitely a call for many of us to reaccess the reality of the situation and rethink the way we look at this election. Hmmmm....

Well as long as they help us destroy China when WW3 happens, it was worth it. Also give us a small piece of Siberia so we can make a bridge over the Bering strait to New America.

You mean Neo Russia. The new wife takes the husbands name. We might as well as the US Putingrad.

Cool so this means that the CIA didn't confirm that the voting machines were hacked ...

Boohoo, Russia released propaganda just like everyone else in the mainstream media did ...

Can we talk about how fucking pathetic the CIA has been?

"We found something about the Clinton emails problem (one week before the election)... lol jk nothing was there"

"Oh yeah, Russians influenced the elections. No, we found out a month later!"

Actually that was the Trumplandia FBI that pulled the Clinton fiasco. As far as I know the CIA has been the only ones that have been on the level. Comey needs to be fired for his incompetence. But since Trump got in he is more than likely guaranteed the position for life.

Somewhere Ronald Reagan is spinning in his grave.

Thank you, Russia! You've helped save our nation =P
