[Update] CIA & FBI Report: Russia did things to help get Trump elected

Forums - Politics Discussion - [Update] CIA & FBI Report: Russia did things to help get Trump elected

Source: The Washington Post -  Secret CIA assessment says Russia was trying to help Trump win White House

Leaked CIA memo showed that the Russian government did do some things to try to help Trump get elected, not just to cast doubt on the US democracy and its election system.

TLDR:

Intelligence agencies have identified individuals with connections to the Russian government who provided WikiLeaks with thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, according to U.S. officials. Those officials described the individuals as actors known to the intelligence community and part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and hurt Clinton’s chances. The CIA shared its latest assessment with key senators in a closed-door briefing on Capitol Hill last week, in which agency officials cited a growing body of intelligence from multiple sources. Agency briefers told the senators it was now “quite clear” that electing Trump was Russia’s goal, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters.

To some, this is grounds for war.

Everything is f$&ked up. Corrupt other country is influencing other corrupt country's election to choose one of the unqualified candidate. Everyone is to blame.

Yup. Not surprised at all. Nearly half of Americans were totally fine voting for someone that the Russians actively tried to get elected.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It would be almost stupid to assume Russia didn't have a hand in the election in some way, if they had a preference for some candidate (and it's well known they had a preference for Trump). How significant, that's another story, but it would be a surprise if Russia didn't at least try something.

No fucking shit.
Again, congrats America. You voted for a Russian puppet. Because of Trump being elected along with the EU getting weaker and weaker I'd seriously shit my pants if I was leaving in Eastern Europe. A Russian invasion into the Baltics can no longer be ruled out.

And almost the entire rest of the world including Saudi Arabia, China and the EU did the same thing for Hillary, including donations

Meanwhile Trump supporters were screaming conspiracy theory. Of course it was a different conspiracy. Thank you to everyone who fell for it and voted for this scumbag. You most likely ended the world.

Not surprised at all

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

I find it hilarious how Americans are upset about foreign election intervention when the extent of the reported offense is releasing emails that revealed the corrupt actions of a presidential candidate, considering the United States has been involved in getting and/or keeping numerous brutal dictators into power, including Augusto Pinochet, Islam Karimov, and Fulgencio Batista.
