Forums - Gaming Discussion - FFXV sales: Will other Asian markets offset the loss of Japan?

Asia is a growing region for Japanese and console games in general ever since China lifted the ban. Yakuza 0 sold 500k in Asia, 350k came from Japan. That means 30% of its sales were outside Japan. The game was selling out in Asia http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2015/05/15/yakuza-0-chinese-version-ps4-selling-asia/#/slide/1

FFXV is way more popular than Yakuza, it also simulatenously released in China with Chinese subs.

Can we expect 30% or even more of its sales coming from other Asian markets?

Dunno but it was selling decent on the Chinese psn last time i checked. I don't think they will offer enough to stop the haters from bashing it lol its become so obvious that suddenly a lot of Nintendo fans have become particularly obsessed with FFXV for some reason 🤔🤔🤔

What im more interested in is Japans digital sales for the game, word is its been selling very well on the psn.

Sales over all will make Japan mostly irrelevant.

Aren't those yakuza numbers in rest of asia inflated by western importers?

Yes it will

A shame how hateful some people are for a genuine good game.

Why would that be? It doesn't have English subs so no reason why any Westerner would import it, as opposed to English translated Asia releases.

The Chinese market is a very strong market for video games, it has surpassed the USA in the last year's total revenues. I think that Overwatch sold 2+ millions in 1-2 days in China. There is enough market for AAA games and other genres.

China is a very strong market for PC/mobile games. FFXV is neither of those.

I'm sure that Final Fantasy will get a PC port in the future.

Asian retail + digital + Japanese digital will offset a lot of the decline FF15 has seen in Japan. I don't know whether it eliminates it all but overall in Asia it's definitely not down by much.
