Forums - Politics Discussion - The right has its own version of political correctness. It’s just as stifling.

None of this is surprising. Conservatives have been manipulating language in order to control the conversation for decades. The wanton use of "socialist" in our discourse is just one example.

Well, when even self-professed "socialists" like Bernie Sanders don't the meaning, I can understand why non-socialists wouldn't either. I don't even know why Bernie Sanders insists that he's a socialist when in reality he's a social democrat.

lol what a joke article.

Written by the liars and socialist radicals at Washington Post it's not a surprise.

And a correction to the journalists, we in the right don't hide the fact that we want to stop nearly all immigration to the West, not just the fucking illegals.

The irony of this post is fucking delicious.

I'll take rightist PC over leftist PC any day. Leftist PC is what has been responsible for so many censored games in recent years.

Really now? Despite the recent complaints issued by SJWs, they pale in comparison to the numerous attempts by hard line right-wing fundamentalists to ban genres, or in fact use videogames as a scapegoat from eg. sensible gun control reform. No, the earlier post regarding ALL authoritarianism being the cause hit the nail on the head.

Yeah, lest the Right try to think that the Left is the only one with a morality goal.

I like your rundown: it really did put words to something I have noticed. I am also just amazed about how many right wingers are about this site: are these the fabled dude bros of X-Box Live?

Anyway in my own view both too much Political or Patriotic Correctness is dangerous, but I feel that the latter is the most likely to cause trouble.

Too much Pol.C could, theoretically, cause us to overlook something out of a desire to not be offensive, too much Pat.C is going to cause people to not question something wrong.

I have no sympathy for the 'Just Following Orders' Excuse: if your patriotism causes you to do something wrong, you deserve to be punished.

And yes, the Confederate Flag hypocricsy is frankly obnoxious. Anyone who flies that thing around has no right to call anyone a traitor: or lest we forget who started the war that killed the most American lives.

Hint hint, it wasn't Al-Queida or Imperial Germany.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?

We don't need a whole thing like patriotic correctness. We just have to tell it like it is.

The right wing is against political correctness precisely up to the point where you say something they don't like. It's as simple as that, and we don't have to try to make it seem any deeper than it actually is.

Yes, telling it like it is. Not looking too deep into things.

Tell me, how's the conspiracy about climate science, vaccine science, or that just 'black lives' matter?

Pineapples don't go on pizza.

No I was just making a point about your claim that the Right doesn't 'look too deeply into things'

...Oh wait, I misread you....sorry I have not been getting a lot of sleep recently. Finals.

Ok.  I was kind of confused.

Really I just would prefer if both were just as arguable. I mean you have a party dedicated to fighting any Pol. Correctness, but whose going to come to your defense if you make a comment about the military?

One party will help you if you suggest a people are rapists, but no one will help you if you say the military are rapists.
