The top 10 rankings are based on revenue, not units.

Can you confirm or deny the hardware numbers for us?

like find a creative way to share them.without actually sharing them. At least put us in a ball park area!!!

If you have access to them that is....

Or at least tell us if the leaked numbers are true.

Indeed!! but the best performing current gen console over the last 24 months overall has always been PS4..And now with the PS4 Pro launch -Nov should have been a breeze for Sony (like as in a huge sales gap).  Especially on the back of the PS4 Pro Nov launch combined with PSVR as well as PS4 Slim (and at a lower price!!) which are also very recent releases.  We should have seen a smashing November...But instead we are seeing a month down on hardware and possibly an almost tied position with Xbox (rumour seems to be gathering momentum [or support at least by other posters here] on this thread). That has to be concerning for Sony's future position in the U.S. I mean after all the PlayStation is still their main money maker there.  December should be very interesting indeed. Maybe Sony should have included the 4k upscaler and player on their slim model after all! add to this I think MS are well prepared to pour  even more money into gaming now especially with the latest news that Windows 10 has seen success with taking business away from Steam and their Surface line of products has seen the best month ever in terms of sales which generates even further cash for their services and devices business.

I'm sure if it is 100k gap they'll be slightly disappointed, but if you compare it to last gen where MS had a 12m+ gap and this gen, sony is continuing to increase the gap on a yearly basis, and WW outselling at a rediculous rate. I dont think they'll be overly concerned.

Fair enough but if true  its the future trend they need to be concerned about. Is it possible that a) that the whole console industry is seeing a decline and b) combined with that.. MS have started to recapture the mindshare in the U.S in the console space -with the cureent gen that is.

I don't kmow how many people have to say it to you. And im beginmig to think that it doesmt matter how many times you hear it.

The Pro is noy designed or exoected to sell more than the slim and will not.

The whole console industry isnt seeing a declime simoly because they were (possobly) down in one territory. And for which there are even reasons for that that jave been reiterated on over and over again but you seem to keep ignoring it. Also, (at least PS4) is up in Japan and Europe to the tune of having the best BF in playstation history.

As for recapturing mindshare, it's too early to tell. The months of January through to June are more important to see stuff like that than during the end of year months especially when considering MS software release schedule.

So then Pokemon could be higher on the list.

Hmmmm.... i think I'm onto something. Any math folks in the house? I think we can calculate the hardware numbers.

NPD reports that hardware is down 35% YOY. that would be comparing PS4, XB1, WiiU and 3Ds from last year to this year's PS4, PS4pro, XB1, WiiU, 3Ds, NES classic.

We also get that NES classic sold 196k and that PS4s had 30% of all hardware sold. Os I think we can at the very least loosly deduce what the hardware numbers are.

all we need is what combined total hardware for November last year is, drop that by about 35%, See what percentage of what's left is for the NES classic, and from that get the value of the PS4s of which we already know it's percentage.

So anyone know what the total was for last year?

Or even simpler, drop last years numbers by 35% and then calculate fir 30% of ehsts left to get PS4s numbers (excluding the PS4pro)

It's revenue not Units Sold though, so to roughly estimate the numbers from the information we'd need the average sale price for each different console.

I dunno about trends, but wasnt the gap last year 500k? and so far this year its about 300-350k? With 1 month to go, it may be the trend that is pointing slightly down, but its such a small margin, that its not really a trend that Sony would consider worrying about (someone correct me on the gap last year if I am incorrect)

Then obviously you have completely ignored or conveniently forgotten my recent posts in which I have repeatedly claimed the slim models of both consoles would always be the stronger sellers (and for the same reason I claimed Xbox One s has outperformed ps4 slim for offering additional value). In any case, I think you are completely missing an important point here. This (PS$ PRo) is a launch piece of hardware with months of preorders and yet we are obseerving a decline (compared to last year) in ps4 hardware for the month - this coupled of course with a super budget slim model..  Please read my previous posts for your own sake of clarity.

Now the whole Pro argument would make sende if we knew how muvh of that was shipped. As of the start of december even amazon didnt have stock for the PS4pro. If you wanted to or tried to buy a PS4pro last week you would have got an "item will be available December 13-15th" message.

What that should tell you is that sony didn't ship buttloadd of PS4pro's.

And this New hardware thing has to stop. It's not like it's new hardware coming in at a lower price point. Its new hardware designed specifically for a very small market segment that actually costs more than the original hardware. You should also take those into consideration before you start extrapolating deductions.

But tell you what, continue what you are doing, I'm not gonna get sucked into this anymore than I've already. let's wait and see who wins December, then January through April.... if XB1 is really doing all you are suggesting, then I expect them to win the majority of those months. And if that happens, then we can start saying Sony has a problem. In NA.
