Well it IS the Xbox 4... Xbox 4K might seem appealing to them.
More people will have 4K TVs now than when Pro launched, making it more relevant.
PS5 will be around the corner, but at least they won't have "# disadvantage" for 2 years or so.
They might even get used to that, especially if staggered launches and half-gen updates become norm.

It seems like some people are under the impression MS is aiming for "half gen" update with this.
I don't think that squares with their messaging at all, this will not be Xbone Pro/1.5/etc.
What they've said is that Scorpion will be the beginning of "no generations" / continual update.
That means they plan for Scorpion Pro/1.5/etc. Otherwise, Xbone would be first of "no gen" sequence.
That doesn't mean there can't be BW-compatabilty, after all that has existed with previous consoles.
With Scorpion, they're not aiming to have simple to dev for "update" of Xbone ala PS4/Pro.
Which would imply retaining CPU and memory model of Xbone, which stat rumors don't bear out.
Sony may not have had Zen option, but certainly had Puma+ on table, and declined for ease of devs (not $).
I think the similarities between MS and Sony PR has confused the issue to some extent.
And to some extent it doesn't matter, however you want to spin it or flavor it,
there will just be different power levels of consoles with varying levels of compatability.
