I remember people complaining for Sony charging for PS2 games, again.
But yeah, being dissapointed for the WiiU that I bouhgt a year ago, I wasnt attracted for the Switch. Now I am because of this feature. A lot of games that I didint play from GC that now Ill have the chance to.
Good for Ninty, smart move really.

I really hope VC is backwards compatible this time. There is no reason why the VC platform isn't something that just works across all Nintendo consoles and your digital content goes with your account. Especially after all the account improvements with WiiU and NNID.

If not, then I will not be buying any new VC again as I plan on keeping my WiiU anyways.

It depends but I don't think they'll clash like a Melee HD remake might do. A VC release will be much cheaper and it's not like Smash 4 for Switch could be just a port with all the DLC (rumors are saying that new content will come, though how much is TBD). If there is more content (i.e., new characters, stages, etc.) along with combining things from the 3DS and Wii U games, I think Smash 4 will do fine. Right now, you have a roster that may not ever happen again (I know I've said this many times but this stands out to me) and I think they gotta keep the momentum going and add more if they can. With Melee, it'll have its dedicated fan base, its such a beloved game that it's competitive scene alone shows how much people still love the game. For the competitive scene for both games, if things go well (i.e., no big changes/updates to Melee's release and more added content in Smash 4), then they should do fine.

I wonder how they will solve the analog to digital trigger issue. Unless the Switch actually uses analog triggers?

Smash is not rumoured for launch window. And yeah I wouldn't expect them to release together  but as great as Melee is, it looks like arse now and Nintendo could make much more money (and sell more hardware) off a retail remaster than a digital Virtual Console game.

Well this probably kills a Sunshine remake once and for all.

Not really, they could just make the remake and not release the original for the GC VC.

Like I said in the other thread, really nice though I doubt I will be double dipping.. but the portability is a big plus
