Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will there be Nintendo Switch games that only run in docked mode?

The more prudent question would be, will we get games that run like absolute shit in handheld mode.

Nope, would he the biggest mistake Nintendo could make with Switch.

So then yes, yes it will happen.

Probably

Edit - I did a research on this docked mode. The difference in power will be almost non existent then, so no difference for games anyway.

I dont think Nintendo will do that, as well as Inidie dev, since that is the selling point. That is what the upcoming ports will interest a lot of people.

Pocky Lover Boy!

No, that's totally against whole concept and that would make huge confusion what game runs on both mods or what game runs only in dock or only in portable mode.

No because this would kill the hybrid concept.

This.

Also, I kind of doubt the difference between docked and portable mode is that big anyway.

Of course no.

The bump in power could be used to have a better resolution 1080p (since the console is 720p in handheld mode)

Also, I'm thinking that for example with Mario Kart, you can play 2 player splitscreen only in handheld mode, and 4 players splitscreen with TV mode.

This is the kind of differences you'll have.

Everybody sees it negative but the glass can be half full. Maybe Rockstar comes along and says GTA6 is possible but only in boost mode, so it's that or nothing... what would Big N decide? They could throw in some mini games for mobile mode but the real game is only playable in docked mode.

I think there may be a dock that can play games without a Switch.
