In belgium you can't completely hide your face in public. This is not applied most of the time though.

Well, as far as I know full facial disguises are forbidden in germany. You have to be identifiable to the authorities. I'm not quite sure why the burka is allowed in the first place there, but it seems to exempt, so far.

It's probably exempted by the freedom of cult laws.

I think being able to identify a woman or a man to the authorities more important than a non arbitrary accessoire of a foreign religion. So please do ban it and no longer exempt it like other full facial covering clothes. I especially find burka's with a net at the front disturbing, also in light of recent events in Europe it should be easy to cover a bomb underneath such clothing.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Sorry to say I'm not really caught up on this subject. Is there a particular reason why she wants to ban them or...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Has there been a lot of crime involving people in full-face veils? I know someone else mentioned that other forms of full-face coverage are banned, is that the case in Germany? Because if so then yeah, I agree it should be banned. I've never been fully comfortable for religons getting excemptions that the rest of us don't get (laws, taxes, ect.)

Can't tell you. I know that I hear so often of muslim men doing something in Europe. No idea if the women wearing these veils are though, or if it's just a precaution or making it fall in line with other rules in the country.

But either way, it doesn't sound like this infringes on a religion at all anyway. The full face veil apparantly is not a requirement according to other users posting in this topic.

No more VR in Germany either

Good decision Merkel.
