you can get attacked for removing the veil in the east, and you can get attacked for keeping the veil on in the west.
I think she has no choice really to adopt such policies

As a former muslim I can say the Burka or Niqab have no religious foundation.
A hijab is more then fine
It's unfortunate for muslims. As someone said, take it off in the East and they're damned but wear it in the west and they're damned too. Most people don't realise this but in Islam wearing the veal isn't actually required. But it's been twisted over the years by society to the point where muslim woman feel forced to do so.
