Not surprising, really... Just as expected. Even FFXIII sold far better on the PS3.

Not 4:1 better, in Europe it's <2:1 lifetime, according to VGC estimates.

PS4 sales could be more front loaded with a bigger established fanbase who will buy the game early, whereas teh Xbox gamer base will take their time to pick it up. I wouldn't be surprised if the ratio went down over time. Though I expect it would stay above 2:1 and possibly 3:1.

If Halo 5 was anything to run by, then yes, given how everyone was screaming "HALO'S DEAD! DAMN 343!" and then a few months later the guy who works at the bloody company said it was around 5 million... Then everyone downplayed it because reasons...

The game sold around 5m supposedly ww without digital according to an article on n4g. If 15-20 percent is X1 sales and you include digital sales it should be over a million on x1 ww. Even if it isn't it still around 1 million which justifies the x1 version.

We dont know that for certain.... thats probably only in the US & UK maybe AUS.

World wide its probably closer to 10%.

That would mean 500k world wide for the Xbox One First week, but yeah even then thats probably enough to justify its x1 version.

The question is if theres enough demand on Xbox side, for them to make a scorpio port?

Since we already know the game only sold 700000 in JP, not necessarily. If Europe didn't buy it in troves and it was mostly a US thing, then we might be looking at a global percentage standing at around 1M. Also, this was only the first week. People seem to miss these games sell for more than a week and how many games which people said "flopped" then went on to sell around three times their release MONTH's numbers.

As for a port? Knowing SE's history with XBO ports, most likely not. Even though people might buy the console in larger numbers and this might lead to some VR DLC which might actually use the backup firepower.

You might see Scorpio support on the next game though...

Well, if we're gonna be honest, 5 million for a main sequence Halo game just about is dead for the franchise. I have no idea where Halo 5 landed, but it is certainly well off from Halo 3's peak. OTOH, if main sequence Halo games can consistently sell 5-6 million every release, then there's no reason it should be discontinued.

I can think of maybe one game that sold better on xbone than PS4 (just dance i think) Ff will be no different and lol to anyone who thinks the digital sales will make up the difference

Nah, you'd have to be insane to think this. I am sure it will break around 1.5 million though. In other words, viable... and par the course for any Xbox game not named Halo, COD or Forza...

To think what? that digital sales will somehow make up a big chunk of overall sales or that most multiplat games sell better on PS4? You're making points i never brought up, Ill ask again WHO here said that this wasnt a viable port?

I doubt we will ever see Halo 3 numbers unless Halo becomes multiplatform. The thing set the bar too high to be honest... Besides, this was only a few months in. These games don't stop selling all of a sudden.

That a game might sell more on the Xbox One. One has less people to buy them...

I doubt digital sales will make up for any difference, but they probably make the gap look smaller. Odds are a lot of XONE games sell another half of their physical sales. Not enough to make up for the gap but enough to pay off any costs and warrant ports of most games...

Lol. Expected. FF is not well-known to Xbox players, and it's also not a console with many JRPG-friendly publishers.

Had to chuckle when they listed the percent of sales on Xbox One after saying PS4 sales were 79%. It's like "Yeah, 100 minus 79 = 21, thanks!!" LOL.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Hopefully SE realizes they have to build the audience and they will only be able to do so if and only if they keep supporting it. They don't have to release the niche stuff but the mainline series should remain in the console...
