This is the type of thinking that almost destroyed the world during the Cuban Missle Crisis during the actual Cold War. JFK's military chiefs were convinced nuclear war with Russia was inevitable, if he had listened to them likely most of central Europe, China, Russia, and the probably a major US city like New York would've been eradicated in nuclear war.

JFK + Khruschev saved the world from more extremist elements in their power ranks, I have no doubt of it. The thinking that war is inevitable and thus a first strike must be implemented is extremely dangerous, none of us posting on this board would likely even be alive to post because human history would've been so radically different.

lol no.  China is no miltary match they are not getting into a cold war with the US, Soviets did casuse thast all they had.

China US will clash is coming, better it be now and a trade war.  Will balance out the world.  Letting them go uninterupted out of some patetic fear is well pathetic.

You're not really following your own circular logic here, so China is less dependant on the US, if they are less dependant on the US, they would become less incentized to not piss off the US, not the other way around.

"Cold Wars" are proxy wars too, not direct conflicts.

The thing about China is, good/bad/indifferent one thing I think is they can be quite vindictive. The US doesn't have a monopoly on being an ass, lol. So if you piss them off, I think what will happen is a lot of unintended things.

Like for starters it wouldn't surprise me if China started pumping money towards North Korea, ISIS, Iran, and every other which way to give the US as many headaches as possible. Russia basically already does this, with China it would be worse, I think they would make it a point to destablize every type of global interest the US has.

That's what I think would be the problem. The idea that China would just say "yes sir, may I have another" after being slapped in the face, I don't buy. Of course the US is more powerful militarily, but China could also blow the world up 50x over if they wanted to and even have tactical advantages in certain areas, like hypersonic missles.

China is very powerful, and its probably that Russia will follow them rather than the USA.

How can a country like China, with so many Tanks, Ships, Soldiers and hundreds of Nuclear weapons ,be considered not strong enought?

The two powers will clash sooner or later.

Strategically and logically for the States its better if its sooner.

A situation is analysed and a judgement made on probability taking as many variables into account as possible.

If war is inevitable then first strike is obviously the way to go.

Don't let the temptation of virtue signaling cloud your mind on every post.

You should study the Cuban Missle Crisis. Those who don't learn anything from history are doomed to repeat it.

China has far greater nuclear capability than Russia did in th 1960s as well.

All it comes down to is missile defence and icbm technology, which China is way behind.

Tanks!!!?

Doesnt America have 1,000 nuclear warheads? Does it matter if it is sooner or later?

Far greater than Russia of the 1960s is not a sound argument unless it's currently the 1960s in the US.

A virtue signaling proverb is not an argument.

They dont get into proxy wars, China for all its size and power barely projects power boyed its borders.

And them supporting isis is idiotic.  You havent much clue what you are talking about do you, last theing they will do is support religios fundementalists. They already are the only thing keeping NK afloat and to a lesser extant support Iran as does Russia.

LOl nither the Ruskis US or HCina are blowing up the world, you know the whoel issue is they die to.

And they have no tactycal advantages other then their population, especially in hypersonic missles.

You do realise the weapons today are capable of like laying waste to the intire surface of the world, 12 times over or something like that right?

Any war that ends up being faught like this... there is no winner, only losers.

Its why its called MAD - mutual assured destruction.

A real war between the US and China, doesnt end well.

A trade war? US probably suffers just as much as china does in that situation.  Doubt anything good will come of that either.
