What does having money have to do with changing things exactly?

ONLY if and I mean ONLY if they left the combat intact from the original game and a point for point remake. Exactly the same using DQXI engine. No Nomura garbage. TBH tho I love the sprites. They have not aged at all and the sprites are perfect.

It'd be so weird when we reach a point where graphics become as real as life itself, then you start to question as to why the enemy in front of you is standing perfectly still, or hopping on the spot. Turn based gameplay can only go so far, but to restrict it to the same stance even in terms of realistic visuals, just serves to break immersion.

I would really like to see a remake, but I would rather it use a more cartoonish art style like BotW that can better stay true to Toriyama's art work. Making Chrono Trigger too realistic, I think, would take away from the experience. It's kind of like making DragonballZ live-action, we all know that the series is best left as an anime.

I'd buy it if it used any engine. Hell, toss in a Chevy engine.

Would be good to see a Chrono Trigger remake. Square Enix may make more remakes if FF7 is successful.

Both Chrono games deserve a Remake... just to polish up the graphics, the sounds, and music ect.
Keep everything else (combat system ect) true to the orginals though.

And while your at it.... that (3rd) Chrono - Break project you guys had planned out..... time to pick that back up and finish it.
