this is better than that :)

Great, so I can charge it with my powerbank on the go. Should ease the pain if the battery life of the Switch is subpar.

I hope we can take advantage of the full bandwidth for storage and / or networking.
Bright futures for the Switch.

also, a supplemental computing device!

But wouldnt that allow nintendo to sell a switch potentially without a docking station? and cables to hook up for the tv ect?

Maybe worth it if they can lower the price to get those that just want it as a handheld onboard at a cheaper price?

Given that the dock appears to basically just be a power supply and I/O pass thru, I doubt the actual savings benefit.
Especially given they still need some kind of power supply, unless it is to be non functional without 3rd party device.
Further, that they would have to subtract the cost of offering a 2nd SKU which is stocked separately by retailers.

Even if you never plug it into TV, the toaster design still seems nice to use for recharging.
I don't think it's being excluded.  Especially given that it undercuts the entire premise and branding of "Switch".

Hell yeah, I hope it is able to support Thunderbolt.

Wow thats not very Nintendo like, but I applaud them

Excellent choice. Industry standard and supports quick-charging. Hopefully Switch is filled with more forward-thinking decisions from Nintendo for a change.

Seems like an obvious thing for Nintendo.

No idea why the 3DS isn't. I mean when people travel, they don't want to have to pack a phone charger AND a game charger. It's nice when one cord can charge both.

3DS came out in 2011?
