I gave a friend of mine the fifty issue omnibus a few years back. He loved it but he said he couldn't finish it. Too depressing. He wanted some sense of hope Ave a bright spot every now and then.

I guess people get tired of the constant depression. It wouldn't be so bad if the show didn't often add piss poor storytelling, as well.

That is another huge problem.

We found out already in season 2 I believe that not only is there zero cure being possibly worked on at all, but you don't even have to be "bitten" to be infected. Everyone is already infected and as soon as you die you become a zombie.

There is no end goal in this series. It's just find a hole to hide in, yet as I said before, every hole seems to have an evil bastard living there already. And by the time you get rid of him, something happens that allows the zombies ot infest your hole and you need to search for a new hole with its own asshole there.

You got to be interested in character development and the world to enjoy it. If you just want people slaughtering zombies, then watch a zombie movie.

I agree.

A lot of people dislike the season when they were on the farm. They wanted more action. I was the opposite. I liked the tensione between Shane and Rick. I liked the reveal that Shane was kind of a bad guy. I was engaged in the search for Sophia, and I actually cried when they found her.

It seems like the show only introduces people so you can feel bad when they die. That's not story telling. That's manipulation. That's why they killed Glenn in issue 100. We actually cared about him and so death mattered.

I agree, and that's why I stopped watching the show. While I enjoy killing off characters to inject drama and tension into shows, the creators unfortunately killed every character I liked save for Rick and Maggie. I still appreciate the show's quality, but without any characters to champion, I'm just not invested in it any longer.

My issue was at this point characters should know better and making dumb decisions annoys me.

It is one thing early on to try to hold onto the old world, but a few years in all that should be left is the hardened smart survivors.

Also, my favorite character, a smart one, died due to another character's, one I use to like, stupidity.
