Nintendo biggest new IP since Pokémon!

I think ppl here are well above their heads.

We have a situation compared to Halo on the first XBox. An above average game compared to the rest of the games on the console, will obviously sell. The WiiU having very few good games, and among those, it's one of the only multiplayer game worth it, so obviously, it sells and ppl play it. Its multiplayer nature is a bonus.

The most popular games on the WiiU, and arguably the best in the console, have online multiplayer: Mario Kart 8 and Smash, so no, Splatoon is not the only good multiplayer experience on the WiiU. Moreover, we've seen Splatoon moving a lot of consoles (at least in Japan, where we can see the correlation better), so it's not a case of "I don't have anything to play, let's try this" but of "I like that game, let's buy it"; if the case were the one you say, those people would have bought a PS4 instead.

I am just hoping that Nintendo can learn sooo much about this!
- Games needs good advertising
- Tackling one of the most popular genre
- Online multiplayer is always soooo good to have
- Kept supporting it for sooo many months with free content

I've praised Splatoon several times and I'm glad it's done so well. That's why I keep insisting that Ninty shouldn't rely completely on its old IPs. New Ips are absolutely necessary if they want to compete with Sony and MS. And in terms of Wiiu hopefully we can all agree they were anything but happy.

Here's hoping Splatoon taught Ninty a lesson.

Nope, include Digital and Halo 5 is easily above Splatoon, and Halo 5 will have more sales still to come than Splatoon too.

Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined this.

Splatoon outsold the original Animal Crossing if I'm not mistaken.
