Because it's amazing and there is a ton of 3DS systems being bought now for Christmas and what better a title to buy to go along with the 3DS than Pokemon Sun/Moon and Mario Kart.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It's a very fun game which pushed the 3ds to its limit. Not as good as mk8 but still a very enjoyable mario kart game

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Now im excited on how MK8 will do well on the Switch. It sold beyond expectations on the Wii u, now that the handheld audience can get a taste of it...... its going to be amazing!

Pocky Lover Boy!

Do they count bundled sales? If so, it would make sense considering many 2DS systems are dirt cheap and come bundled with the game. If not, good for it. I personally feel it's one of the lesser Mario Kart iterations and like DS more, but it was still a solid game and basically the only racing title worth owning on the 3DS.

I think it comes bundled with the 2DS.That must be mostly why

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It is the default game bundled with the 2DS, and that is only $80 nowadays.

Love and tolerate.

probably due to a bundle, is the only thing I can think of?

3DS sales have shot up and good odds are a lot of those buying it for Pokemon haven't bought a Nintendo handheld or even a Nintendo console in a long while so the usual suspects will get boosts: the older Pokemon Games, Kart, etc.

Yes, bundles count.

Do they still count when the bundled game is a preinstalled digital copy?
