Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Last Guardian Length, Day 1 patch and Other Details

A few early copies have found there way into the wild. So far this is information leaked.

  • Game is approximately 12-15 hours long
  • Day 1 patch just over 1GB(improved FPS and general performance)
  • Good pace
  • Music is "phenominal"
  • Great Story
  • Overall great experience
  • Feels like cross between ICO/SOTC, classic Ueda game

Some Cons:

  • Clunky controls
  • Camera issues
  • Frame stutters

Mostly positives, can't wait. More details in article.

More:
Fans of ICO and SoTC will love this game.
Gameplay feels like a mix between the two
Large open spaces, smaller close quarter dungeon areas.
Has that special Ueda feel that can only be found in trico games.

Early impressions from GAF are showering the story with praise. The "clunky" controls will feel familiar to anyone who played the last two games. Animations are "jaw dropping". Yes there are frame drops but no it does not affect the experience nor the purpose of this game.

I personally am more hyped than ever reading the impressions thread - this is supposedly everything we could have hoped this game would be (for fans of trico).

Picking it up on Tuesday with FFXV! (:

12-15 hours long is much more than what I expected (not complaining)

It´s almost poetic that FFXV and Last Guardian, two games that took so many years to come out , finally see the light of day so close to each other.

12 - 15 hours campaign ? oh yess awesome news ! just a few more days

Day one patch includes PS4 Pro support? Or no?

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

I'm a huge Nintendo fan but I gotta admit, I'm dying to play this game, as well as ico and the last guardian. I was hoping the last two would get at some point a vita port, so I bought the vita to play them. Never happened unfortunately. Can't afford a ps4 just for this game, nor a ps3 for the other 2. Will have to wait...

Unbelievable that it's actually happening right xD i'm playing FFXV right now and i'm enjoying the fuck out of it

Damn! Now I wish I had a PS4, this sounds really promising.

Probably not, since apparently the cover says nothing about PS4 Pro support. It is confirmed to get it though, so it will probably come later on. Expect it to come in 2020

if it plays in a similar manner to ICO and SOTC then this is far from being a con.

I don't remember them having bad controls, but previewers of The Last Guardian seem to think they did :-/
