Looks like VVGC has the XBO overtracked if that is true.

Not really, Xbox slim launched in september, and the Xone got a nice sales boost, it seems ok.

Well, i just remembered this picture on my French forum, we talked about it in a NPD thread, or japan sales thread.

Sure you weren't duped?  This would have been big news here or on other sites, since MS hasn't given us any official numbers since saying they were "close to shipping 10M."

I'm sure we didn't have a thread, that's news to me.

Looks like VVGC has the XBO overtracked if that is true.  Of course, I'm even doubting that is real.  I can't find any source online that reported it.

Yeah, I'm doubting it's legitimacy too. Tried to find reports, articles, anything from google. I found nothing.

22 million Xbox One's sold through by early September. Still pretty good tracking by VGC if it is legit.

Not horrible tracking, but it would still be ~600K overtracked.  But yea, I did the same.  Came up empty.

1) Who's to say that those 360 owners didn't upgrade to a PS4 instead while they still actively use their 360? And not like they'll have access to Playstation data to see if 360 owners switched or not.

2) Of course the money they spent on games wont go to waste because they're still playing it on their 360. Who buys game for the system its on thinks it's a waste because the next console doesn't have backwards compatibility? I dont think anybody thought their PS3 or 3DS games are a waste because the PS4 and Switch aren't BWC.

Not trying to put down the growing success of the XB1 as MS has been making numerous smart moves lately, but I just feel that other things could've been better said what was said in the OP.  But regardless, good on MS, we need competition.

You don't have to be a genius or have more data to figure out that there are a lot of X360 owners that still haven't upgraded yet. Xbox 360 sold close, if not over, 90 million consoles last gen, more than what PS4, X1 and WII U sold until now, combined .

Indeed. Both of my brothers are 360 owners and still haven't upgraded. I'm the only one of us who owns a Xbox One. My brother played mine and now he is looking to get one himself. Same with my other brother. Once they saw that most of my games are playable through BC their tunes changed drastically.

Lol I don't think so.

I've been saying for a few years that I think Xbox One might "win" NA, been doubting it this year but since fall and until now, it's looking like a real possibility, especially with Scorpio still looming on the horizon and PS4 Slim and Pro not setting the world afire quite as much as many seemed to believe they would.

As for global; just no. Xbox is irrelvant in all of Asia and pretty niche in most of EU, besides the UK. Too many big markets that ignore it.

I think 2017 will be the turning point. Scorpio will be the moment Xbox becomes the most important Windows device on the market. Offering the power of a $2000 PC for $500 will change the home computer market. It won't be too long after the launch of Scoprio that PlayStation and Xbox combined yearly sales outsrtip PC and MAC sales going forward.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. KBG29 on PSN&XBL

Have to give MS credit, they have bounced back and shown some surprising fight this generation.

It also to me says there just isn't room in the market for 3 consoles trying to compete for the console audience. Nintendo basically had no choice but to go with a portable-hybrid route, no one is buying another "home only" Nintendo console.

MS would have had to have grown very weak in the console business and been looking for an exit, but XBox One is still going to sell a healthy-ish 40+ million units, too much for them to go anywhere.

I'm not convinced that Scorpio will do it, unless they focus on 1080p and frame rates/graphical fidelity. I think Sony did mess up by not really having a solid plan what the Pro was for, they are obviously aiming for 4K gaming, but really should have made sure that 1080p users were rewarded (I don't have a 4k TV and will unlikely until 2018-2019). I think that'll be the case in 2017, and if they do, then I think the differences between Pro and Scorpio will be minimal and the cost difference considerable.
