What 8 are those?

Halo 5: 4.36m

Halo MCC: 3.21m

Gears Ultimate Edition: 2.14m

Forza Motorsport 5: 2.2m

Forza Motorsport 6: 1.77m

Dead Rising 3: 1.57m

Forza Horizon 2: 1.39m

Sunset Overdrive: 1.13

Its actually 17.75 not 18.7. That's an average of 2.21 per game.

I would say that is more of an issue for XB than I would for PS.  Looking at the lists you have 8 games with an average of 2.21 from 5 franchises for XB.  For PS you have 9  games (I discounted LBP due to PS3) with an average of 2.01 per game from 9 franchises.  Diversity is a bit better than relying on the same few franchises over and over.

Edit: also someone else earlier pointed out that you have 7 or 8 genres in the PS list.  You have 4 in the XB list.

PS has always been more diverse but that's because their fans prefer a more diverse amount of exclusives while Xbox prefer fps, tps, racers, horror games. I agree that it's better that PS has more diversity but there's no point for MS to branch out to genres that won't sell well.

One could argue the genres would sell well IF Microsoft actually put the energy necessary into them.  Fact is MS has been milking the same franchises for years, including the 3rd party CoD, and that has started to turn on its head a bit.  Also, as another poster mentioned, based on the criteria almost half the games you listed for the XB1 wouldn't count.  Knocking the total franchises down to 4 and game genres to 3.  Also knocks down the average a bit I believe.

I did say according to the OPs criteria. Since LBP3 was counted so Halo MCC, Gears, and Forza should eb counted. Also DR3 sold over a million units by the time it cae to PC.

Why did you include both the MCC and Gears bundle if he didn't include the uncharted bundle? Which according to GC it sold over 4 million.

Didn't know/remember SSO broke a million. Good for it.

TLoU Remastered would also be on the PS4 list if we were using ports and remasters no?  I agree with the idea that remasters and ports should be left off and it should only be true exclusives.  Not console exclusive or company exclusive etc etc.

He could add them is he chose to. But since eh added LBP3 it won't make sense not to include halo and gears.

I didn't include LBP3 in my breakdown with the averages.  How does the list you have compare to that one?

I hope The Last Guardian joins the list

Well, you cant say they arent trying. They are branching out with QB, Recore, and next year Scalebound. Also LBP3 was on PS3 so with his criteria it makes sense.
