I think so XD. Female Link was a popular discusion back in those days, and that seems a troll way to feed that discusion again XD.

This might be an odd thing, but the part that almost got me most excited were in the 2nd trailer when Link THREW his spear! That's so awesome :D Really good use of a spear right there!

Yeah, it's not a coincidence.  They referrenced Studio Ghibli and I think Princess Mononoke specifically as artistic inspirations for Breath of the Wild.

You can actually throw any weapon.  But I think it destroys the weapon most of the time so it's a better tactic to save until the weapon is near breaking anyway.

Given the long blond hair, that would be Zelda alright. If i remember correctly Nintendo ruled out a female link, but maybe a playable Zelda is possible.

It would be interesting if the game was more than one adventure, with you alternating between Zelda and Link in their own paths to become the worthy holders of their own parts of the triforce, but I highly doubt this is the case :P
