I am not going batshit over a stream, but Zelda BOTWW should have performance equal to the Witcher 3 or FFXV on Xone, the ps4 version is crap, with its framepacing issues, and not like a bethesda game or FFXV on PS4. It's an exclusive so it should be easy to optimise and have a stable framerate.

Well, it's not really exclusive, it's being developed cross platform for Wii U and Switch.

Besides which, plenty of exclusive games have framerate problems.

They shouldn't have especially when they ate developed by a first party studio. Nintendo knows the hardware for the Switch best it would suck when 9ne of the most ambitious Nintendo games would suffer from notable frame rate issues. As for Wii U well Nintendo knows the system well by now and it has been in development for that platform for quite some time.

Naughty Dog knew the PS3 inside out when they made The Last of Us, but it still had significant framerate issues.

As I wrote... "Exclusivity" is focusing on corporate ownership rather than technical issues.
In fact, it's not even Nintendo's own platform, they outsourced core HW and even API to NVIDIA.
They do not have a Cerny scenario where their software dev teams were at nexus of HW design.
Nintendo literally just picked up NVIDIA's Shield 2 platform and APIs and signed on the dotted lign.
Wii U/Switch remain very dissimilar platforms (Xbone/PS4 are more similar in CPU/GPU architecture).

And again, why in the hell does early pre-release footage mean anything?
Any game is unoptimized at this point.  Multi-platform, which this is, even more so.

Quit trying to ruin somebody's good, honest hysteria, with rational contextual basis.

Yes and it was a lesser game because of it. Even though it was kind of a miracle that such a weak system could run that game. The PS4 is however able to run it properly in 1080p. But as I said it shouldn't have Nintendo is games are well known for quality and being very polished. They should keep that up even if the competition like Sony and especially ND screw up performance wise with TLOU on PS3 and PS4 pro and Uncharted 4 PS4 and PS4 pro (explosions and smoke effects).

The Switch is more than five times as powerful than the Wii U. It should be relatively easy to run this game flat 30fps on the Switch. Especially since this game has been in development for Wii U most of the time.

I'm gonna have to set aside a month for this game.

God I wish it was a launch title though... I suppose a later release would sustain interest in the switch beyond the first month or two.

You wish it was a launch title?

I wish it was out already (which it should have been, actually).

At this point I can't take the forever wait anymore, it's killing me.

Hah me too but the videos suggest to me the wait is worth it, they've done an amazing job with the extra time. Zeldas almost always get delayed but wind up being masterpieces... I had to wait forever for orcarina but I'm glad I did lol

Indeed, the Switch version should really not have any performance worries for reason you just stated.
So why get hysterical over pre-release footage of Wii U version?  I'm just not seeing reason to worry here.

Hopefully we finally get the Switch version footage on Jan 12.

Pocky Lover Boy!

@Quark: VGChartz is being garbage again and not letting me quote your post, but do you have a source for Switch being 5 times more powerful than Wii U?
